It's getting real close to time for Dandy Don to sing, "Turn out the lights, the party's over!"

Stink the PAC 12 Football players are demanding a 50/50 revenue split from their schools or they will boycott the 2020 season.

When the tail wags the dog then it's time to bob the tail.

But I think it Don Mclean time, how about a little American Pie?

For me for the last week and a half, its been the Partridge Family. David Cassiday singing, "I think I love you." After a week and half, I think I like the song. Unless you are my age or a little older, you probably have no idea who the Partridge Family are or have heard the song. I don't even remember where or how the song got in my head.

But if any of you want to risk it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bb4FMn-IWEY

For me Bullet that song is only appropriate when I'm thinking of Susan Dey.

I was quite fond of her then!

Among my friends if you had a crush on Laurie Partridge you had to take a number. She was still a cutie on L.A. Law. Of course it was easy to have a crush on Shirley Jones as well. Especially if you remembered her from her role as Lulu Baines in Elmer Gantry. But in that movie it was Jean Simmons that takes the prize.

But to be quite honest my first crush ever was on Annette Funicello and my second was on Nancy Kwan. After that it got predictable Donna Douglas, Dawn Wells, Elizabeth Montgomery, and Barbara Eden. By the time Susan Dey hit the screen it was almost like robbing the cradle, almost.

Not that Susan Dey ever did this but this whole discussion reminds me of the J.Geils band, "Centerfold".

Back in the old days, when you got married, you combined album collections. My wife and I are only about two years apart and like a lot of the same music. But out of 40 or 50 albums each, we only had 3 duplicates. For those who started college in the 70s, 2 would be pretty predictable:

Boston
Fleetwood Mac Rumours

The 3rd was unusual-J. Geils Freezeframe.

Well my life liked Chicago, Barbara Streisand, Stevie Wonder and later the Starland Vocal Band. I liked Credence, Skynyrd, the Stones, Nazareth, the Beatles later music, and Folk Music, Peter Paul and Mary, Joan Baez, Kingsman Trio, a little Dylan, and true Country (Tom T. Hall, Merle Haggard, George Jones, etc.).

Later Marshall Tucker & Little River Band & Supertramp / 10CC were okay along with Mike & the Mechanics and Gloria Estefan in the 80's.

But my favorites from the 70's were ELO, Fleetwood Mac, Eagles, & Rod Stewart. As single songs from the 70's I'd include Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody, & Rafferty's Baker Street, & Thin Lizzy's The Boys are Back in Town.

Now early 70's songs In the Summertime, Love Grows Where My Rosemary Goes were solid. 60's favorite song was Ruby by Kenny Rogers and the First Edition. Other key bands were War, 5th Dimension ( I cold listen to Marilyn McCoo sing about anything), and Motown, and I liked the Doors, and Van Morrison.

I didn't love the band but Bread was a great grubbin' soundtrack because every girl I ever dated loved them. Stewarts "Night on the Town" was a good for it as well!

My wife and I had 1 duplicate: Linda Ronstadt's Greatest Hits.

That said I had Boston and of course Fleetwood Mac's Rumors, but I am surprised you and your wife didn't share Hotel California. Gotta love Life in the Fastlane.
