Are you buying 2020 football season tickets?
With about two weeks remaining until the 2020 Football season ticket order Priority deadline (June 15), I was curious where the board's season ticket holders stand (see what I did there?) on buying tickets.

I bought mine in early March, which is unusual because I always drag my feet and renew around May 15. If there is football with fans in the stands I'll be there. Pretty sure I would go even if I hadn't paid the money already. Kind of curious how the rest of you feel. (poll is anonymous I think if I have the settings correct).

I paid for my tickets about three weeks ago. I can’t wait for the season to start! However, if they modify the season or put any restrictions in place for games such as shortening the season, delaying the season, restricting tailgating, or requiring masks then I’ll demand a refund. I’m ready for a normal football season! Go Dukes!

Well get ready to demand your refund. State currently has a mask mandate and if JMU is planning to require masks in class, football will be the same.

Hopefully the state’s current mask mandate will be rescinded long before football season starts.

Me too! But Longhorn gave us some insight into JMU’s fall planning and it sounds like masks could be likely for class attendance. Just saying it sounds like you’re setting yourself up to demand a refund.

Yeah, zero chance JMU won't have a mask requirement this season absent a vaccine suddenly becoming available (0.0000001% chance by September 1).

I couldn't choose the 5th choice due to my intense hatred of the expression "monitor the situation" 03-banghead (but that's probably the case)

Why would football be the same? It's outside.

I'm a big time procrastinator and haven't renewed yet, but voted third option instead of fourth since there's no "probably" to it.

Outside or not doesn't really matter much when you're jamming 25,000 people together. I mean, I don't wear one outside when I'm walking my dog cause that'd be a little silly since I'm not coming close to anyone. If I was going to a produce stand outdoors or something like that I'd still wear one, I'm still going to be face to face with other people. The whole "Forward Virginia: Phase One" thing requires masks for employees and vendors in places like that even if outdoors.

Hard to buy season tickets living in GA. I'll buy tickets to games I can attend. The situation is fluid.

Masks outdoors at a game would be pointless, because people wouldn’t have to wear them when eating or drinking. And wouldn’t be wearing them when cheering. Or would just ignore it. You’d see more wearing on the chins than on the face.

This! Hard to root when your face is covered.

Because of the proximity of spectators to each other & the nature of droplets spread from cheering. Thank you for asking.

I just want the season to get going. If I have to wear a mask then so be it, it’s a minor inconvenience IMO.

*IF* there is still significant infection in the area, it wouldn't shock me if the decision was made to not have food/drink inside the stadium and/or lower capacity to provide for some spacing. Understand that would upset some people, but better than canceling games entirely.

Believe some schools have announced they will reduce capacity, though I can't recall which one(s) at the moment. It will be interesting to see what Tech and UVA do, that may set some precedent for Virginia.

For sure. Let’s have football if we can. I’ll certainly yell loud enough about hating Richmond that my mask won’t stop my words.

The mandate you cited applies to when you are indoors only. If you're suggesting that JMU will require masks to be worn during games, that is laughable. Once inside the stadium, the security is beyond useless. I don't even know why JMU hires them. They are there to watch the game for free and sure as hell won't be telling anyone to put on their masks.

You could try stomping and jumping. Get Bridgeforth shaking like RFK back in the day.
