That is a problem on your and many others minds. For the better part of 5 decades Blacks have been murdering whites and violently attacking whites in outrageous percentages. Yep, that is the problem. Even if they suspect him they don't know. If they don't feel safe getting out of the car without their guns, they don't feel safe and shouldn't be getting out of the car.

I don't disagree that the narrative of a "lynching" is not at all supported by the facts or that presenting this as 3 rednecks hunt down black jogger is anything less than race baiting. The facts of the case are still troubling.

Also, black folks are gonna be mad either way. They charge these guys with felony murder, they will walk. They get charged with manslaughter, blacks will think the prosecutor is going easy on them.

Yes. Because the media distorts the truth. Atlanta TV stations are playing up that he was just jogging and has his childhood friends saying what a great guy he was.

As with Zimmerman and the Baltimore police, charging them with murder is just a "get out of jail free card."

Well the previous DA knew one of the defendants personally as a former police officer, so he's not likely to charge him.

I agree, people are going to be mad either way. I also agree that if they charge them with Murder they won't be convicted. I wouldn't convict them of murder based on what I know at this point. If they can paint Arbery as a degenerate who regularly had run ins with the law it's going to be much more believable for a jury to accept that he attacked them and they had good reason to fear for their lives. It will also be much easier to convince a jury that the father-son duo had cause to try to confront him (they didn't IMO). Murder beyond a reasonable doubt is a tall order. Reminds me of the movie "Law Abiding Citizen" - it's not what you know, it's what you can prove. Sending someone away for Murder is a heavy burden for a juror.

You know those DAs love to charge cops in these rural counties
