The name is a distinction without a meaningful difference in context. The correction is done as a means to imply 'weight' through 'volume of mis-statements'. I understand he also used a comma when he should have used a semi-colon (using that as an example of implying weight through volume)
Given that Biden made the comment the day after Trump's decision, and that nobody had spoken about 'China Virus' or anything else... there absolutely IS evidence that this is what it was in reference to, it just isn't undeniable.
If Biden were relating it to the 'China Virus' comment, that phrase wasn't in the vernacular at the time... meaning that Biden was inserting 'nationality' himself.
If Biden were simply inserting it into the conversation without context... again, he'd be the one engaging in Xenophobia.
I can quite literally think of no reason for Biden to insert that comment into the conversation, other than in direct response to the previous days action... or because he himself was engaging in Xenophobia (blaming China) and projecting that onto Trump.... not letting a catastrophe go to waste...
Either way, Trump's comment (which really means nothing) is not an unreasonable interpretation of Biden's comment.... whether or not it is 100% undeniably the correct one.
Given how often the left has meaningfully taken Trump's comments and edited them to imply something he absolutely didn't say, this sort of correction is laughable to anyone but the left.
