If Penny gets a show-cause and MM steps in as coach with no post season ban, I think we get both of them. Green or Brown aren't committing here because of Penny; it's solely due to MM.

Yes. He is the one landing the players. They aren't coming here if he leaves.

You sound like the office manager at a multi million dollar business who thinks the entire business will collapse without her... Those businesses are not created around office managers and our program and our recruiting is not built around MM.

Lol, I’m sorry you don’t understand recruiting. Who do you think got LQ, Precious and Boogie? The same lead recruiter for Green and Brown that just so happens to being doing everything possible to get out of here.

Well, you got one of your five statements correct, so I guess that's something. I am assuming that ST does know something about recruiting. I give you Boogie, that's about it.

Wrong bud. MM is the most important recruit we need to keep and he’s actively trying to get out of here (and that is before we knew about the NCAA coming after us). Wish I was wrong but if he goes so do Green and Brown.

RE: So Who Takes The Fall?
How many would be petitioning (via message board) for MM to become the head coach of this program if, in fact, Penny got a show-cause? Surely, now, we would start looking for an established, winning, up-and-coming head coach of a smaller program.
BTW, I want Penny as our HC and for him to not get a SC.

how bad will the fall be?

Penny and Memphis could potentially have the Shi* Hammer fall upon their heads literally a couple of months later. Any case involving teams that make them money seem to be untouchable. Two faced hypocrites.
Meanwhile Kansas just put the NCAA on notice, lol.
Kansas disputes NCAA allegations against basketball team...
"In its response issued Thursday, Kansas stated: "In this case, stemming from federal criminal trials in 2018, there are several facts that are in dispute; there are assumptions made; and, perhaps most importantly, there are unprecedented and novel theories put forward that, if found to have merit by the Panel, would dramatically alter the collegiate sports landscape in ways not contemplated by the Membership."
The Jayhawks' statement goes on to say, "The University formally challenges each of the men's basketball related allegations in the Amended Notice of Allegations ("ANOA") as neither NCAA legislation nor the facts support the enforcement staff's allegations."
IOW, nothing will happen to them while lil ol Memphis may get smacked around.

You are overstating. I will agree with you on Brown, not on Green. I also don't think he is doing everything he can to get out of here. Between his wife and kids and still needing more credits, it isn't a slam dunk that he is gone.

For playing an ineligible player and basically flipping double birds to the NCAA? Not to mention, the next day or two, Wiseman and Harris (iirc) were on IG with targets on the back of their shirts.
Most of what you just said has nothing to do with the bylaws but perceived feelings hurt and the part that is a possible violation I stated that Penny said the University told him to play Wiseman
Seriously dude, do you actually think that the Wiseman family has Leslie Ballin on speed dial?
Or they conveniently just added the U of M as a defendant in the case?
There is someone associated with the program who was pulling strings on this deal.
You sue yourself by proxy to leave yourself with plausible deniability.
So the U of M can walk into the investigation and say our hands were tied we had to do it.

RE: So Who Takes The Fall?
People saying Penny could get a show-cause need to go read the things that have gotten coaches show-cause penalties in the past. It is always some combination of lying to the NCAA, instigating cover-ups, academic fraud, or repeated recruiting violations. Unless there’s some major skullduggery not yet out in the open, nothing like that happened here. Playing someone with questionable-but-undetermined eligibility for three games with a court injunction in force and the concurrence of University administration simply does not rise to the levels of previous violations resulting in show-cause penalties. And certainly Penny’s payment to the Wiseman family does not, as it occurred when he was a booster and not as a coach.
Should the NCAA be foolish enough to issue a show-cause penalty on Penny, the lawsuit he would file against them (and quite possibly win) would garner some major national attention. All that to penalize a coach and school who played an athlete the NCAA ultimately decided should be allowed to play after a 12-game suspension.
