He might've designed it in practice, but during the game, Penny was clearly the one on the board showing assignments.
Toppert talked about this on Calkins show this morning.
He said the Harris 3 out of the TO was a suggestion from Miller.
He said the Precious lob was a play that Toppert adapted from his NBA days, and that they practice. But he said that as soon as they huddled for the TO that Penny called for the play.
He also said it show good growth by the players to be able to take the play from the board in the huddle, and actually execute it.
Sort of flies in the face of internet coaches who say:
a) too much talking in the huddles - players don't know where to listen, or
b) Penny doesn't listen to his staff, or
c) Penny doesn't have enough experience on his staff, or
d) whatever other silliness internet coaches have come up with lately.
