Losing by 17 to not just the worst team in the league but one of the worst teams in D-I. Gross.

This is embarrassing, but might just be a reality check that we just aren’t that good. Teams now have video on Burke and his play calling.

Every other CAA team can beat JMU....except us! We might be JMU’s only 2 wins in conference.

I like Burke but this is why I've been talking about how we need to have an open mind. Jimmy Bass needs to go through the coaching search process as if we don't have a HC.

Burke absolutely deserves an interview and maybe even a finalist spot. But some here were talking about him being a virtual lock to get the job already.

So losing your only pg on a small, young team is a coaching problem? When he was out and then hurt against Towson we had the same problems. McGraths recruiting was as bad as his coaching which is why our 6'6" center and our 6'5" guard playing pf are getting destroyed in the post and on the boards. No other coach i can think of could overcome the problems with this roster. I commented at the beginning of the year we looked like a DII team and that hasnt changed.

I'm saying that any assumption that Burke is a lock to be our HC was premature. Burke has a golden opportunity to separate himself from the other candidates. A 20 or so point loss to JMU doesn't help, regardless of the circumstances.

Maybe Linssen goes down too, we lose, and that should put an end to Burke. We have to win regardless....

We have more rebounds but jmu is killing uncw with the steals and turnovers. Shooting percentage is about same

Don't get all pouty. This is a results-based business. And I like Burke. I want him to run away with this and make the decision easy for Bass.

At least this team appears to stick together and they play hard which should be a given but is not always the case. I watched the NCSU vs Louisville game earlier today and that was just as ugly but they don't like each other and it shows on the court. Get the PG back on the floor and see what happens from here. It's a conference game on the road and they are tough to win against any team.

As bad as this has been I think this is a different story if we had Phillips. This is an awful outcome regardless but Shy is just that good.

I agree and he is that good. Get him back on the floor and get better.

Time to recalibrate and finish strong. 7 games left + the tournament.

Today was a huge missed opportunity no doubt

But Northeastern lost today too.

So we remain 3 games behind them and 3.5 games behind Drexel

Drexel hosts JMU and Towson next week while NE only plays 1 games at Hofstra

If we can defend homecourt and pull off a homecoming upset we will still be in thick of things

We'd have to run the table or go 6-1 to have a shot.

I still hope Burke and the crew can pull off another win or more, maybe even an upset in the tournament.

If Shykeim misses more time though, we could be in some serious trouble there.

My expectations are lowered, and honestly those two conference wins are more than I thought we’d end up with anyways.

Time to just wait out the process and see what Bass comes up with.

With it being a concussion I have serious doubts that he'll play next weekend.

Burke postgame with Mike V. His responses are light years different than McGraths. Burke actually got me fired up after that loss.

“When did you think you lost the game?”-Mike V “Probably the first two minutes, I think I fired them up too much.” That made me laugh.

“Tough times don’t last long, but tough people do.”

“One man can’t dictate our program.” In response about missing Phillips.

Our guys bend but do not break, I promise you our guys will respond.”

He also stated multiple times that he takes the blame for this loss.

Why no press? Evidently it's an auto win when we "havoc". Its all you heard about while McGrath was coaching;. Haven't heard a thing about it since he was let go. We haven't pressed. Bottom line is this team consists of freshman and sophomores and they don't know how to win yet. We're a bottom tier midmajor in a below average conference, and expectations should reflect as such. We're not a midmajor powerhouse and never will be. We've won 1 tournament game in the history of our average to below average history. Love the passion on this board though.

Well dang man. That's gotta rank as one of the most negative posts.

For your press comment it is a valid question, one Burke has addressed himself. It's hard to press when you turn the ball over and/or dont make your shots
