RE: Iranian military commander General Soleimani killed in Baghdad strike
During the Iran-Iraq war the Iranians sent unarmed children in mass waves across the desert into Iraqis machine gun fire for the simple purpose of causing the Iraqis soldiers to expend ammunition. I’m not sure we could wage war against that kind of radicalism in today’s PC culture. This ‘war’ needs to be waged just as Trump is doing it now. Get the bulk of our soldiers and equipment out of there and kill them remotely when the opportunities arise.

Yep.

Time and effort spent occupying territory and "winning their hearts and minds" are wasted, and any lives and limbs lost in those efforts are in vain.

The radicals who populate the terrorist groups believe that if Allah wanted them to have schools and hospitals, he wouldn't have sent infidels to build them.

What we need to do is cut off the head of the snake. Our first priority in Afghanistan should have been to kill Osama bin Laden and Mullah Omar and their top officers, and then GTFO and stay TFO. But we're still there trying to occupy territory and win hearts and minds. If this signals a change in strategy, then it is about time.

I think its pretty clear Westmoreland quickly knew he couldn't win. He could just create a bloody stalemate, because LBJ gave the enemy sanctuary in North Vietnam (and Cambodia and Laos also).

We went after their forces in Laos and Cambodia, just not with regular military. It was a covert part of the war, and one my father helped to direct.

It wasn't until Nixon came in that it was a full scale effort.

The CIA was in there from the beginning. Most were gathering intel and the covert war did get started a bit later, but by 68-69 it was going strong.

I ran into guys in the O Club at Subic/Cubi in 1969, who couldn't talk about where they had been.

Lmao wag the dog is ******* right. If this were a dem president you would be ok? Please be honest...haha

I would not be upset if a Dem president killed a terrorist who masterminded an attack on an American embassy among other atrocities especially if, as was the case here, the terrorist was in violation of his UN travel ban and in a country where the government asked us to assist due to that terrorist's actions

Lmao you said the same when OBL was killed?

Are you saying I criticized the killing of Bin Laden

It was a simple question, not surprising I get a question rather than an answer

What proof does trump have that another attack was planned? What kind of attack was it? Was the proof similar to proof of WMDs? Sounds like bull**** to me. This situation is like the 100 times we've killed the leader of a terrorist group. They don't die, they multiply. Good luck with this war to nowhere. Might help get trump re-elected like he thinks it will.

And just like that Trump made Democrats defend Iranian terrorists.

When you think they go no lower, they find a way

This is what TDS looks like. You know more than Trump.
It wouldn’t matter what the next attack on freedom or neighboring countries was going to be. It was coming. But you say don’t fight back because they will multiply. How short sighted and frightened is that? No matter CB, Trump and the American military will keep you free while you gripe, beetch and complain. Ain’t America great!
