That P6 marketing you said made us a laughing stock, sure has helped. Each school in our conference has put in the money to help improve our situation. 5 10 win teams in the AAC.

Oh lord, one bad season - Every team has one. Get a grip dude. We’ve had 3 - 10 + win seasons aside from this past one. A Top 25 team with wins over LSU, Nebraska, and almost handed Clemson a pillow on their own turf. Not to mention 3 straight bowl wins. We’ve earned our respect as one of the top G5 programs.

And for the dumb*** that said we’re the 4th or 5th best team in Alabama...UAB and South Alabama have been our ***** since they started a football program. Go look at the history.

I don’t care what the meaning of P6 or G4 is.....bottom line is it doesn’t exist. Your G5...deal with it. Get the tampon out of your vaginas and grow a pair just because your not part of the P5. Are you top G5 yes....but still G5. That’s my argument and I’m sticking to it. Y’all can keep living in your effin fantasy land.

This is one of my all time favorite posts. Troy is a "Top 25 team." Looking at the AP poll history (College Poll Archive), Troy was ranked 1 week in the top 25 in 2016. Is that what you consider top 25? One of the top G5 programs? Top G5 programs finish the season ranked. They're ranked for more than 1 week in the last 4 years. I'd bet there are at least 15 G5 teams (counting the AAC for your benefit) that have more than 1 week ranked.

And BTW, it would be "you're G5." I'm generally not the grammar guy, but since this is your main point and you've repeated this phrase ad nauseum, you might as well say it correctly. But feel free to tout your academics since you didn't respond to my academic rankings post

You're Houston... not your Houston. You do that consistenly so it's not a typo. You might check if you can get a refund on your advanced degrees from a school better than SMU

But since you don't want to talk about that, please explain your logic on how being ranked 1 week in your history makes you a top 25 team and one of the top G5 programs. How do you define top G5? Is UNT a top 25 team because they were ranked 1 week in their history? Is Houston a top 5 team since we finished ranked top 5 twice in our history (note finished ranked top 5, not just 1 week mid season).

You’re really hurting my feelings with the grammar remarks - sniffle sniffle tear tear. If I was writing a letter to the president than obviously it would matter. Again it’s a message board - I don’t care. Second, Troy was the first team in conference history to make the top 25 rankings for one week. I stand corrected. However that is a big accomplishment on their part. The Sunbelt has come a long way than where it was when it first started out. It’s now considered a more competitive Conference football wise than the MAC and CUSA, while sitting behind the MWC and AAC. We as a conference have knocked off quite a few P5’s the past few years, which goes to show the level of competition between the two groups is narrowing that gap. We just had our top recruiting class in school history being in the top 10 G5. Those are facts. Not shots. So make of it what you want.

I think you all should lawyer up...you got ripped off...conference champ Memphis is 12-1...great year...but why are there 12 teams ranked above them that have 2 or 3 losses...I mean...you are a P6 after all...I'm trying to figure out why your best team got crapped on in the rankings...And all the teams ranked above Memphis are from pier P6 conferences (plus ND)...it just isn't fair to rank a fellow P6 conference champ like Memphis with 1 loss behind so many teams that finished 2nd, 3rd and even 4th in their conference...this must stop...

I remember when I was a kid (mid 90s) I collected sports cards. I had one of a Troy running back. I asked my Dad what/where/who Troy was. He said its a college that have had some decent players/teams here and there, but really they were a nobody. Lol turned out to be right on point.

Ah you see we aren't P6 yet. We don't make the money or have the bowl tie-ins to be considered so. Still a work in progress.

There is the P5 (Kings)
The American closer to P5/P6
The MWC closer to the G4/G3
There is is the G3 (Peasants)

IMO, both American and MWC are tweeners.

You're the reason people are trashing Troy and the Sunbelt. No one on the AAC board has ever started a thread saying the Sunbelt sucks. When the Sunbelt is mentioned here, it is generally agreed they've passed CUSA and are on par or better than the MAC. But you have to talk smack that AAC is not on par with P5 and its a fact. But if you want to talk facts.

Sunbelt is way below the AAC.
Troy is not a top 25 program.
Troy is not a top G5 program.
Troy is not on par academically with most if not all of the AAC (i still can't believe you tried to compare to SMU)

Be proud of your school, your football, and your conference. There are good things to be proud of. Just don't be an a** tearing down others to try to make yourself look better. It only makes others hate you and you look stupid when you come up short by comparison
