Why are Rice stats buried in the latest redesign of the riceowls.com website?

This seems to have been an intentional burial during the latest website redesign, as the old website had a "Statistics" tab for each sport ... and that's now missing.

In my experience, website features are not deleted by accident. Does anyone know why this fan-unfriendly move was made?

It's not buried deep. It's in the white bar near the top after navigating to a team page. On mobile, it's the "More +" in the top right.

I don't see any white bar on any team pages ... just a vertical scroll of stories on the left 2/3 of the screen and a vertical option of "events" or "results" on the right 1/3.

The previous design had a white bar as you describe it. But not the latest design. (Is there some option for selecting a "Classic" view? :-) )

Sidearm has some wacky designs. They don't seem to care in the least about making information readily accessible, just the ads and pretty stuff.

There is no white bar when I view the page on Chrome or Firefox browsers, however is one when I view it on the Microsoft browser, whatever that is called these days. Perhaps Sidearm is in cahoots with Microsoft?

I'm seeing it on Firefox for Windows and Android. Maybe it's one of your extensions? My ad blockers are uBlock Origin and Privacy Badger.

Sorry for the huge image, but this is what the page looks like for me. If you don't have the white bar that starts with the sport name, you should e-mail somebody in Athletics. Maybe start with Shu? He could connect you to the right person.

I'm sure it's a browser issue. I'll let Chuck know when I see him Friday (although I suspect he's already read this thread).

Speaking of stats (and women's basketball which we weren't doing necessarily in this thread, but stay with me here). Baylor's Juicy Landrum set an NCAA record with 14 3-pointers today in their rout over Arkansas State. That's 2 more than our team leader (Lauren Schwartz) has for the season. Schwartz has 12, Sydne Wiggins has 11, and Katelyn Crosthwait has 10 - our only players in double figures for the season (11 games).

This is not an us problem. It's a they problem.

I tried accessing the page on six browsers across PC & Mac platforms, with and without ad blockers, and no dice. Never saw that info bar.

Here's the top of the Rice baseball page that I see in Chrome, which is up-to-date: Version 79.0.3945.88 (Official Build) (64-bit). No white bar.

I can scroll down through various stories etc., but no white bar (with a stats option) or anything else that leads to stats appears.

The stat I would like to see is how many shot clock violations we have taken vs our opponents. Also how many 5 second calls we have taken trying to inbound the ball.

Chuck Pool did write to me saying that he thinks the issue with people using Chrome is that they have their displays set at more than 100 percent (which can be changed in the Chrome settings, which I can get to by clicking the 3 vertical dots in the upper right of my screen). However, he thinks you're not seeing the white bar if your setting is higher than 100 percent, and mine is set at 100 and I'm still not seeing it, so I'll email him a bit more and try to see if he is talking about a different setting??
