For the last two years you all have been stating you wanted to go to the New Orleans Bowl. You guys embarrassed yourself the most more recently, not by your loss on Saturday, but by your poor attendence to the conference championship game that you won last year against Middle Tennessee. Put your money where your mouth is and attend this bowl. You may lose, but so what. Support your team. It's a four hour drive and you can get a hotel for less than $100. If you don't, next year when bowls are considering teams, they will avoid UAB stating the fans don't travel to even close bowl games. I may even go myself as a casual fan. Bet I can get on stubhub and get prime seats for less than $50.
You're full of BS. We had more people at Middle than they did, and they played on their own field.
Seats are $30 at the ticket counter.
Watched it on tv, but just looked it up. Attendance to the championship last year was 15,806.

There weren't that many people there. But the overwhelming majority of the crowd was UAB. I was there and thought we traveled decently well.

I was disappointed with the last 2 bowl destinations, only for selfish reasons because I couldn't attend.
Already booked a hotel in NOLA within walking distance, and purchased our 3 tix from the UAB ticket office. I thought about trying to find them cheaper, but also want UAB to have the credit of selling from their allotment (if that exists).

The reference is not stated well, but I read this as he is saying we attended this year's championship poorly although it was a game we won last year.

Yeah, but he’s wrong though. The title game at MTSU was poorly attended overall but UAB had a very solid travel contingent there.
However, I will wager that our bowl attendance won’t be very good, because of the sh!t show we put out on the field in the CUSA championship..

The whole distance thing between a lot of the eastern teams and the western teams leads to very poorly attended conference championships.
You aren't going to get many from any west team to be able to go to the lower part of Florida.
Add in the fact that most teams wouldn't carry a ton of fans if it was across the street.
MTSU was an easy trip for us. Very few if any of the other destinations would be easy.

If the MidTenn team fell in a Championship game, does the Murfreesboro residents listen?

Word on the street is our tight ends coach is leaving for Missouri.
Not sure if it will be after the bowl game or not.

It's about markets, not fan interest, in the C-US of A

And that’s why this league is trash. I could easily put together the best league possible based on short travel distance and fan support. These leagues don’t want butts in seats unless they are at home. They certainly don’t want eyes on the league unless folks are looking at empty seat accounts on social media.
