I know they have the FCS title game there and people gripe because it’s a small soccer stadium and not optimum for viewing football. Congrats to the staff and players, another building block for hopefully moving the program forward in the right direction.

Frisco Bowl against Idaho State Dec 20.

All right did anybody see anyone who projected us to be in the Frisco Bowl.
I wonder why this stuff doesn’t leak out at all. Not very much stays secret these days but somehow this stuff does.

I kind of figure there is a lot of wheeling and dealing going on in the background for a lot of parties which may mean the final determination does not come until the end for a lot of this stuff which means there is little to put out.

This is it ... still the cigar smoke in the back room deals. It will be interesting to know what the MAC/Kent has to $$$ put up to get this deal. Should have just begged for Detroit game and be done with it.

Is what it is ... same for everybody in the MAC. Now go win some games.

I'm hoping the MGF and cheerleaders don't get left behind.

Best to start the push now since last time they were reluctant and they really should be able to go.

I have been told by a band member’s parents that the band is indeed traveling to the bowl game.

We are the worst football program in the history of D1 so its a feel good story. Plus, with one more winning year it will allow Sean to move on. Hopefully he stays for next year.

I still have it in my mind that the KSU Football team should have a short-term goal of 'normalization' - up until now, the program has been a train wreck, and reaching average for a few years would help people to forget the wreck. My version of 'normal' would be at least 8 seasons out of 10 with 5 wins, and bowl games maybe 3 years out of 10. Also - 'normal' would be 8 seasons out of 10 with at least 6 students on the All-MAC teams [there are about 84 players on the All-MAC teams each year - this year we got 6]

If we get to 'normal', and have some history of going to bowls, we might be able to decline games like the Frisco Bowl. I'd guess it was easier for Toledo to decline a bowl game, given that they've been to a few over the last 10 years.

If I were in command, I'd say 'normal' also includes no more than 2 money games per year. It would be good to be able to schedule home-and-homes with schools at our level for the 4th nonconference game [assuming one game is still a home game with an FCS school]

And it would be good if Coach Lewis is here for 2 more years, to help with the normalization process.

I think, as others have said, the bowl game is a reward for the hard work by the players/coaches and a chance for the coaches to get in additional practices/player development. I think I prefer the Frisco Bowl ( and MWC matchup) to Camelia Bowl and/or Potato Bowl. ( was it reported that Toledo turned down Frisco or other?)

I like the other parts of your dream scenario though.

Toldeo didn't turn down Sh!t. They got left out. Anyone bitching about this bowl game needs straight up take the standpoint of eliminating the program. This is what we play for.

Toledo had canned their OC and DC, so even if invited, they had serious problems.

Toledo turned it down from what a friend told me who was in the Toledo's department last year. Yes, kill the program. Get a head of the curve because MAC football will not exist in a few more years. Akron is already discussing dropping down a level.
