Dallas doesn't get to the NFC Finals this year Garret has to be gone.
I think these narrow losses by the Panthers, backup qb or not, might have Rivera on the hot seat..... and then the Cam decision will be looming over the franchise too.
The Cam decision has already been made IMO and the team seems to be moving on. Not that the new owner might not want to make a change at head coach, but I wouldn’t want to lose Norv Turner’s offense.
I agree with your assessment on SF and SEA, it doesn’t look like the NFC is as deep as originally thought.

no chance he's MVP. Wilson and Watson are your 2 favorites.... He's thrown for more than 200 yards once in the last 4 games. Sorry that's not sustainable.
Keep thinking those positive thoughts stever! One of these weeks he's gonna stink up the joint but it wasn't this week. Another 200+ passing (could easily have been near 300 but he didn't play in the 4th). I know... TERRIBLE DEFENSE... but his numbers against this terrible defense are miles better than anyone else's so far.
Yes, it'll probably get exposed when he's in the playoffs but that it's WHEN and not IF is pretty exciting for the franchise. There's nothing wrong with getting fired up about watching this kid - he's a blast to watch. Unless you're a Redskins fan.
It was the Cincy Bengals.
Lets see how he looks these next 4 weeks. Houston, Rams, 49ers, and Bills...
Poor stever... wishful thinking is no substitute for analysis!
Well...Lamar Jackson within the past 5 weeks has embarrassed the Patriots, Texans and Rams Defenses....it is what it is...currently the Front Runner for 2019 NFL MVP...

Yeah...The Ravens are really good.
I'm not quite sure how the Browns ended up dominating them in Baltimore earlier in this season, but I'm certainly not counting on a repeat during the rematch in December.

The Browns have played against Lamar and co. three times since last season and are 2-1. There's no reason to think they can't beat them again in Cleveland. Dominate? No. Win a close one? Yes. Cleveland may also be fighting for a wild card slot and the return Ravens game is their second to last game.

Not really. Lamar didn't start until week 11 last year. In the Browns win last year he threw 1 pass and had 3 carries. So they've split 2 meetings with him as QB1.
Of course the Browns could win this next game. But I've seen several reasons the last 4-5 weeks to suggest they are more likely to get blown out than win. Way better teams than the Browns are getting abused by the Ravens right now.

Yes, Flacco was the QB last season for the first game at Cleveland but Lamar was on the team and that's why I said "and company." The Browns had a chance to win the return game at Baltimore last season but lost it late in the 4Q. The Browns beat the Ravens soundly earlier this year in Baltimore 40-25 and the next game is in Cleveland. Props to Lamar for playing at an MVP level but the Browns have shown they can hang with [and beat] Baltimore going back to last year.

Well, not trying to nitpick, but you said "There's no reason to think they can't beat them again in Cleveland".
All I'm saying is I've seen several reasons recently to think they can't beat them. Marcus Peters addition, Myles Garrett subtraction, Lamar Jackson becoming as good as any QB in the league. Now a lot can change in 3 weeks but the current trends don't favor the Browns.

Semantics. I meant you can't give a definitive reason why the Browns can't [won't] beat them again. The Browns are only one of two teams to have beaten the Ravens this season so they have a formula that obviously worked. The Browns are playing better football - yes the schedule has been easier - especially on the side of the offense with the addition of Kareem Hunt. I'm not guaranteeing a victory by any means but current trends don't matter three weeks from now. We shall see.

Yep - I think it’s his to lose. QBR leads the league, he’s 10th in rushing ( before today’s 101). And his team is winning.

RE: 2019 NFL Thread
I have to admit, I was not a believer in Lamar at the beginning of the season. All he does is win and prove the doubters [like me] wrong. Credit to Baltimore for scheming to his strengths and not making him into something he's not. The only downside I see is the long term risk of injury with him making so many runs. Through today's game he has 140 rushing attempts. I remain of the mindset that I would rather have my QB focus on passing the ball and let the running backs take the consistent pounding.

I wonder if they wanted to make sure he was gone, and not take a chance with Atlanta and Indy left (along with New Orleans last game)- that Rivera doesn't get a chance to take it to 8-8 and try to save the job.

8-8 wasn't going to save it. The trend in winning over the last few years and the uncertainty of Cam's health.... he was on the ledge unless we made the playoffs.

Looks like Belichick and McDaniels are still in the video spying business...
Quote:Sources told ESPN's Dianna Russini that a Bengals employee was watching a videographer, who identified himself as a Robert Kraft employee. The Bengals employee alleges that the shot on the videographer's monitor was of the Bengals' coaches and staff on the sideline for the entire first quarter.
Sources told ESPN that the Bengals employee flagged media relations and Bengals security staff, then interviewed the Kraft videographer. That interview was also taped. The videographer asked if the footage could just be deleted and it could all be forgotten, according to sources.

Of course the Pats claim responsibility but argue that they are totally innocent as this was an independent crew that was filming a spot for one of NE’s team scouts.
