Tulane with a big game against Saint Louis this week, only real decent OOC game we got outside of our loss to Miss St.

7 top 100 teams; UCF is inching up toward the top 100.

Massey has the AAC ranked #7th in naation

As time passes and more data is available, the ratings will have more meaning. Right now, they are almost useless.

I abhor the eye test by March, but presently I am impressed by WSU, UConn and Temple.

Only positives for ECU right now is we have 5 straight home games against pretty weak teams and have both JUCO guards back so maybe something improves. Dooley better be hunting the transfer market because he's staring an 8-10 win season straight in the face.

Win that game, and I'd put us at 60% odds to enter FedEx at 11-1(!)

Utah is decent. And if we beat Akron, we will almost definitely play Liberty the next day. They’re rated about the same (or better) than the Billikens.

Andy Katz Power 36 rankings

Quote:25. Temple (26): The Owls were in a position to upset Maryland in the opener of the Orlando Invitational. They then took care of Texas A&M and Davidson.

26. Memphis (27): Precious Achiuwa has been an elite player for the Tigers.

Utah has played better than I thought based on some scores I had seen. They did get destroyed by 22 points by the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers though.

Were you the guy that predicted ECU would finish at .500 in the conference, in the top 100 in the RPI and possibly challenge for an NCAA tournament invite? Pi-Rats may be worse this year than last, if that's possible. You had Tulane below you last year, but this year, looks like ECU is destined for the cellar.

I think our basketball program is simply cursed....Football is starting to feel that way as well.

But we have baseball....where we can't quite reach the top....but so close...but never there.

St Louis is having a good year so far. It will be a test for us on the road. Going 11-1 into Memphis would be fun. Let’s just hope we stay healthy, we have zero depth(one of our dunleavy hold overs just quit and went back to francs). Honestly at this point Tulane is playing with house money

Oh good, that ought to pick that 250 RPI right up. Especially when you invariably lose a couple of those.

Nope I never predicted all that. I did think we'd be significantly improved and I couldn't have been more wrong. I think the JUCO PG's being out really hurt things, but every other JUCO being hot garbage has nothing to do with them being out. The only positive thing I can say is 3 of the 4 freshman have massively exceeded expectations, but no one had any expectations for them because they were supposed to be behind the JUCO's who have sucked.

Temple has one of the best defensive teams in the nation, and fully expect Temple’s defense to be even better going forward. Temple’s defense will produce even more Temple points, and less opponent points.

Barring injuries, Temple will receive a very high seed as Temple will continue to improve. Players starting to share the ball more has helped fuel my optimism. Understand your caution. Fully expect Temple to beat opponents the next 12 games. Temple is a helluva of a team.

rpi is the only computer than doesnt use projective data...which you might like but at the same time, that makes it useless in till midseason (conference play)... you are better with a computer that uses projective data (like kenpom) and/or preseason polls (ignoring rpi is outdated)

liberty almost guaranteed to finish a top 50 team...utah likely ends up top 100 when its all said and done

akron likely to fall off to sub 150 or worse

saint louis is impossible to project..this was supposed to be a rebuilding year but are alredy outperforming expectations
