Being a week away from a big game against Georgia, I think Murray St deserves a lot of credit.

They have 20 fewer scholarships, so it's not surprising the they would wear down.

My impression, they were done-in before half. Maybe that's fewer schollies but I'm thinking, Ga the week before and a better conditioned UT.

Anyone else impressed with our freshman kicker. Kid is doing a nice job.

Several tough games on the schedule but I think winnable.

BYU was assisted by the USC QB throwing to the BYU linebackers and then self destructing on their next approach to the goal line. I know one thing I'll be teaching my Madden DEs for when BYU does that tightly packed goal line rugby offense. I'll teach them to somersault over the line, grab the FB/RB in the backfield, strip the ball and run for the TD. What button is that?

Very much. Both of them actually. Cluckey is the son of a former colleague.

Definitely not Bruce. I tried to pick it up but they never said who was filling in. I get irked at Balbinot who frequently doesn’t give score, time and quarter, as well as other pertinent info, at TOs. They should have made mention during post game who the other guy was. Maybe they did but I was listening for it and never heard.

I thought I heard "Jack" a couple times, so all I could think of was Jack Linch.

RE: UT vs Murray State Game Thread
The way these guys on defense started I thought we were in for a long game. Murray was pretty much doing what they wanted. As someone said earlier they shot themselves in their own feet. If we play like that, I mean come out slow and can’t get our offense on the field. We are in for some losses that will put an end to our Conference Championship chances before we get halfway there

If they aren’t given a 7pm kickoff for BYU, it had better be 12pm Eastern. Either way, there needs to be a butt in every single seat in the Glass Bowl two Saturdays from now. A nice convincing win in the mountains next week would definitely help with that.

I'd like to point out two things...

-The LED ribbon board provides a really exciting change to the atmosphere. Even though it's not yet the entire length of the grandstands, it lit up the entire stadium and looks great in photos.

-The soccer stadium lights were shining brightly during the game! Those really light up campus and looks great on television. If you want to be big time, this is the kind of thing you have to do.

25,300+ in the Glass Bowl for (FCS TEAM NO ONE CARES ABOUT). Awesome scheduling. We are a night game school. Caught breaks with P5 teams avoiding the late time slot. We sell out BYU EASY.

The AP recap said we were 25-2 against FCS/I-AA competition since 1978. Who did we lose to? I remember very close calls against Eastern Illinois and Weber State but I do not remember any losses. Must have been from the pre-Saban era.

1988 McNeese St... Ugly game. We had a back up QB playing and struggled big time

RE: UT vs Murray State Game Thread
was suprised to see long start at guard. thought he looked pretty athletic but a little out of sync with other oline guys. is heidecker hurt? staff played a lot of guys from early on. thought the depth difference in talent and speed caught up to Murray St. our defense was a bit lost between the 20s in the first half but focused when they got close to scoring range and played tough defending the end zone-hence the shutout. liking the defensive talent coming into the program. was really disappointed w defensive play past couple years but they look like they are turning the corner a bit.

player wise mitch was solid. bradley looks great throwing the ball and I hope we can work him in for meaningful series even if mitch stays healthy. finn looks a lot lot mitch. fast, not a textbook passer but decent, good pocket presence. also looks like he will fill into his frame pretty well in a year or two.

excited to see kelly and stuart get touches. both looked good. seems like UT always has good undersized wideouts who can make people miss and this year there isn't anyone really like that in the rotation. mckinley-lewis is fast but not shifty. looks like stuart and maddox are the future in that role. maddox looked like an upgrade at punt return.

some of the younger defensive guys flashed a bit deamonte king, sutherland, jalyn williams, all got some snaps and made some plays. i don't know if this defense is good enough to win a conf title this year. but it looks like we're improving on that side and as these guys grow we could have a vintage defense in a year or 2. mullins and rogers are potnetially a really nice pair of DTs and the defensive end talent is deep and as the guys get a little older and stronger we'll have more power on the edge.

kicking game was strong. flint is real good and the freshman is stepping up at kicker.

still a little nervous about the run game. koback is good but altogether it isn't there yet. hopefully, the line can find some health and stability and grow into a good unit.

With our running backs we should have more rushing yards. The O-line needs to get better.

The O-line minus Bryce Harris, Y. Atariwa, and B. Heidecker could be the major reason there is a drop off in run production...
