Tennessee goes down to Georgia State.
South Carolina loses to Carolina.
Auburn on watch.
Vandy is done.
Discuss.
Vandy equals Virginia Tech both losing in conference.
South Carolina equals Miami both losing to rivals and by 4.
Tennessee is slightly worse than Florida State losing at home to Boise in the heat.
Ole Miss has been down scholarships and quite frankly Memphis was better.
Missouri's A.D. should be fired for scheduling Wyoming on the road where they are tough on everyone.
The SEC is 2-1 against the ACC in the opening weekend and 1-0 against the PAC, where Auburn's true freshman QB found his confidence in the 2nd half.
The favorites in the West were L.S.U., Alabama, and A&M who all won in blowouts, and Auburn who is in the mix but not favored did well enough tonight against a higher ranked school with a veteran QB. Miss State and Arkansas survived opening weekend. Ole Miss did not.
The East has been weaker but the two favorites Georgia and Florida both won with Georgia winning on the road handily and Florida beating in state rival Miami in an ugly game. Kentucky survived. South Carolina, Tennessee, and Missouri did not while Vandy lost in conference.
That pretty well sums it up. For what it's worth I don't think Alabama will win the West. I think L.S.U. will. And I don't see anyone matching up with Georgia in the East.
Tennessee was the true embarrassment on the day for the SEC. They were lousy in all aspects of the game including strength and conditioning and the mental game.
South Carolina had the talent to have won but Muschamp (name a big game he has won) played it way too close to the vest with an 11 point lead and the ball on UNC's side of the field after a turnover. Carolina found its confidence and Muschamp missed his chance.
Memphis and Wyoming were just better.
