In other non-tarpghazi news.

App is locked into the 8/9 game. If App wins the series versus Coastal today, they might have to play Coastal again on Tuesday in Conway and would have to beat them for a third time in a row.

Going off the last few years here is how I see at-large prospects:
40 or under RPI— very good at-large chances. If you go back and look at the last 5 years teams with 40 or under RPI very few are left out. It is over 90 percent in
41-45. Good chance. I peg it at around 65-70 percent in
46-50. Getting very iffy. Probably around 30 percent in
Over 50. Very low at-large chance. 5 percent at the most

Yeah I think we're still in the mix and firmly on the bubble right now. Outright championship helps.

Need a good showing in Conway.

Had we not "faltered" a bit coming down the stretch, I'd like our chances of an at large a bit better.
As is, we should leave nothing to chance, better to win the whole thing. Course that's easier said than done.

It would go great with how salty Georgia State is about having to play meaningless games.

Really like Whataburger Field .. . whenever I'm in Corpus during the baseball season, I catch at least one ballgame while in town.
Yeah, we try to hit about a dozen games a year. Last year we didn't manage that.

Louisiana obliterates ULM today 19-8. That locks ULM into the 10th seed.

So what we know now:
1: TXST
2. GS
3. LR
4. UTA
10. ULM

Out. A-State and GSU.

5 through 9 still being decided.

So our starter pitched 7 innings today. He scattered 19 hits and 13 earned runs in there, but hey Senior Day!

I can t remember a collapse like Ark St. From 8-2 in conference to a final conference record of
11-18. Ouch. Maybe time for a new coach there

App is the 9 seed no matter what due to Louisiana's win.

6-4 Coastal, bottom of the 6th! Troy is destroying South Alabama 10-2 top of the 8th. We've beaten the Trojans 2 out of 3 games so I guess we would have the tiebreaker when it comes to tournament seeding...

RE: Belt baseball — Last series
Coastal's gonna end up with 28 games played vs. a full 30 for Troy.

If Troy and Coastal both win then Coastal is 15-13 (.538) and Troy is 16-14 (.533). Whether it goes to higher winning % or the head-to-head tie breaker Coastal would be the 5 seed and Troy the 6. USA and UL would be the 7 and 8 and would play App (9) and ULM (10) in the single elimination play-in games.

I think that's all correct.

Edit: I think Coastal would take it just on winning %, but even if it went to a 3-way tie-breaker it'd still be Coastal 5, Troy 6, USA 7 if the current scores hold.

Troy beats USA 10-2.

Last meaningful game remaining is Coastal leading App 8-4 in the bottom of the 8th.

If Coastal holds on:
1. TXST
2. GS
3. LR
4. UTA
5. Coastal
6. Troy
7. USA
8. UL
9. App
10. ULM

If App comes back to win:
1. TXST
2. GS
3. LR
4. UTA
5. Troy
6. USA
7. UL
8. Coastal
9. App
10. ULM

If Coastal finishes the win over App St (8-4 lead in 8th) the seeds go like this:

1 Texas St
2. Ga Southern
3 Little Rock
4 UTA
5 Coastal Carolina
6 Troy
7 South Alabama
8 Louisiana
9 Apo St
10 ULM

Play in games:
South Alabama vs ULM
Louisiana vs App St

2 groupings:
1 Texas St 4 UTA 5 Coastal Carolina and winner App St/Louisiana
Vs
2 Ga Southern 3 Little Rock 5 Troy and winner of South Alabama/ULM

I think the lowest seeded goes to TXST's side and highest seeded goes to GS's side.
So TXST would get either UL, App, or ULM but couldn't get USA, and
GS would get either USA, UL, or App but couldn't get ULM.

It looks like we're all going to be in luck come tournament time because the forecast is showing low rain chances with cloud coverage Tuesday through Thursday to make those afternoon games more bearable! The weekend afternoon games are going to be extra toasty, though, as the temperatures rise into the upper 90's. 03-puke03-weeping03-pissed I'm getting really excited and glad we're getting a chance to host Sun Belt action so I hope I'll be there in person on the last day watching Coastal play...05-stirthepot04-rock05-mafia
