For crappie? That doesn't sound like fun at all. Maybe for catfish.
Yes, for crappie
Not sure why the kind of fish matters to you unless you don't eat crappie

Well because you catch a couple hundred crappie in a few hours. Why spend hours putting up yoyos to catch a lot less fish? Catfish requires some patience, so using yoyos and leaving is a better idea.

Set up a yoyo, drinking beer, set up another yoyo, drink more beer, set up another yoyo, drink more beer.....repeat until you have about 12-15 yoyo's set....drink more beer. Go back and check the first yoyo (collect fish), drink beer, check 2nd yoyo (collect fish), drink beer, etc., etc.
Did I mention the beer drinking? And by the time you have 10-12-15 set you go back to check them you have fish...usually lots of fish....to eat....after you've drank lots of beer.

Sounds like my kind of day off work, lol. I got the beer part down, lol.
I just want those Catfish Noodles to deliver me some dinner I can fillet and eat...with beer of course, lol. Nightcrawlers and worms I'm just pulling up empty hooks. I'll have to try Chicken Liver.

Liver comes off the hook pretty easily. Some people will take pieces of pantyhose to wrap the liver in. It isn't quite as effective, but still effective.

Basically the same with the exception that one feeds on the top of the water and the other on the bottom.

You guys wearing them out? Here I am again working to get the yard in shape missing the season. What are you catching them on?
Bagh, I've got to get back on the water! Stupid lawn priorities, I want to go fishing!"

RE: NTR...Crappie Anglers
Actually, one of my favorite methods for catching crappies is on dry flies at dusk. You don’t catch slabs that way (at least I don’t!), but you catch numbers.
