Ever hear of a place up near Flippin called Broken Creek? I think that's the name of it.

When she caught her first three pounder it was on like a pot of neckbones. Couldn't keep her away from the water. Now, nobody in the back seat anymore. Not as much fun

Those Cypress trees at Lakeview. I could catch Crappie with the socks off my feet. Now that's fun fishing.

No, thanks for sharing. Care to elaborate? We've basically just got about a month to really hit these Crappie up hard.

Just don't do what we did. 3 men in a 16' Jon boat all slinging treble hooks is just not natural.

We ended up in Minor Medical getting a treble hook removed from a scalp. Wear a helmet when fishing with at least 2-3 other men in a 16' or shorter Jon Boat floating down a river in a high current.

Ha, my wife got hooked twice in the same day! That was crazy. Sure was a trooper though. All this high water needs to stay around a good bit longer now. Crappie hang their eggs in the bushes. Water will drop and leave them high and dry.

RE: NTR...Crappie Anglers
Lol, I think we all have fishing battle scars we hide. I've once hooked a treble hook lure hanging from my ear lobe when I was a child, like an ear ring lure while trout fishing once in AR. There it was hanging, like the ultimate Southern Redneck earring, hanging in all of it's glory like I was Joe Dirt.

The adult in charge of us played surgeon and broke the hook in half with a pair of needle-nosed pliars and pulled it out of my ear lobe on site free and clear, lol. Onward we fished.

Good times, great memories to share with my nieces and nephews.

It's actually called Crooked Creek by Yellvile, AR. I've heard years ago it was a honey hole for small mouth bass. I'm no bass fisherman but thought I'd pass it along.

edit: I put Broken again

Run yo-yo's in the flooded areas of Arkabutla Lake. Just hang em from the trees. And bring plenty of beer. Whole lot of fun.

Some of the richest men in the world were ****** fishermen with their businesses or products before they became rich. That's a pretty good reason to get good at something, beyond internet trolling on message boards.

We're in the heart of Crappie Spawn Season in the shallows. I've been too busy to capitalize thus far this season. I have a place at Pickwick, but any local lake or pond here in the Mid-South I could get a scouting report from Crappie anglers here would be mucho appreciado.

btiger has reeled in some whoppers right here on this board.

For crappie? That doesn't sound like fun at all. Maybe for catfish.

I've been Noodling (or jugging if you will) Catfish with Nightcrawlers...I've even tried Hot Dogs, and it's always an empty hook. Any suggestions?...Is it all about depth? I thought I had my depth right. My hook seems fully wrapped and secure around the barbs.

It's like they're sucking the bait right off the hook like popsicle sticks. Of course, I'm left being the fool.

Second vote for chicken livers. I never could eat them but you couldn't beat them for catfish . I also had an old man tell me to take a couple cups of dog food and a net to the pond. Throw the dog food out and wait for the catfish to come calling and then scoop lol.

What's wrong with you?

Crappie is pronounced crappy by a lot of people, sh!tty is a synonym of crappy and fisherman is a synonym of angler.

It was a JOKE.

I get the feeling many of you struggled in 5th grade.

Cool! Thanks fellas! Timing right or not, I'm clearly not Noodling properly. Do y'all use treble hooks...a single hook with 2-3 barbs on it?

I'm going to experiment with Chicken Liver through the end of April at least.

I might be fishing too large a body of water that I dont understand how to fish effectively.

Have any of you ever tried grappling Catfish? I stumbled upon a crew about 3 years ago in the water in our private canal in holes along driveway inlets. They had a 45lb. Catfish in their Cooler, among others.

He had on an arm guard equipment like he'd been fighting in a cage.

Chicken livers.

And wrap them in pieces of panty hose to keep them on the hook
