If the only thing you have to hang your hat on the 2018/2019 season is beating the mediocre conference champs on their own floor, have at it. Im sure that is better memories than being the 5th best team in a mediocre conference and losing by 50.

What your arrogance seems to blind you to is that Marshall, traditionally a football school, has as many basketball championships in CUSA as ODU and one more NCAA win as a conference member. You guys are suppose to have basketball tradition and certainly haven't provided much of anything on the football front.

We all knew there wasnt a good team in CUSA this year. Anyone that went to the CUSA tourney saw a bunch evenly matched mediocre teams. Someone expecting ODU to beat Purdue wasnt living in reality

The Purdue game was winnable. ODU just couldn't buy a shot.

False. Western played better this year against teams built like Purdue than we did against CUSA teams. I would have given us a good chance with Purdue. But I also thought we could have very easily lost in the first round of the conference tourney.

Thanks for the support CUSA team fans... For shooting 25%, losing by 13 is not a bad result. We shoot over 35%, we win that game.

I won't say we let the conference down, but certainly this wasn't how we all envisioned this episode ending. (I myself had ODU scraping by Purdue and then getting boat raced by Villanova). Oh well. We'll do better next year, we promise.

A 61-48 loss to a 3-seed is not a badge of shame. Disappointing because we all know ODU is capable of doing better than that. But still it was a great season for the Monarchs.

Pretty much how I see it too. Though I might say it was a "very good", not great year since we did win the reg season and conference tourney. That doesn't happen too often. Not shocked we lost to Purdue. And we made it a game for a little while and interesting at the end. If BJ Stith had played anywhere close to his old self, and we had a just a little bit of shooting luck it would have been very close.
