Exactly! Also, Northern Illinois, Buffalo, Old Dominion, UAB, Southern Miss, Rice, App St, and Charlotte.

Yep, you sound cheap.
If you’re a sports fan, espn+ is a must. They’re really investing a ton of effort in it. They just made it the EXCLUSIVE place for UFC. This is how ESPN is planning on staying a behemoth after the cord-cutting apocalypse. The platform is already great and keeps getting better.

P5s will be making $150M/year by 2031. We'll get $7M.
The key was always separating our self from the rest of the G5 first.
Let the world find out some more about concussions and who knows what the game of football will look like in 2031. Parents already aren't letting kids play in high numbers now. That's going to have a ripple down effect on fandom as well IMO as less people grow up watching it, and some people actually stop watching it just because they don't want to support something that leaves young people damaged etc. It's already changed a lot in the last 12 years.
You take this money and run. What was the other option anyway take less and less years. That had to be a bargaining point.

I had it for a few months just to watch 30 for 30's. It's like 5 bucks a month I think.

I was hoping to avoid that.
way to me if we don't renew with CBSSN, all those games that would appear on CBSSN in the past would go to ESPN+, ESPN trying to dump ESPN3 content. Just my guess
so does that mean NBC still has a chance?

Worry about that in 2032. For now, enjoy the fact that were getting a huge raise.

Are you sure about that? We didn't have a deal with CBS the last time, ESPN subleased some of our content to CBS. The article mentions CBS but it mentions ESPN has the Tier 1 and Tier 2 rights. My guess is it would be a continuation of the same deal ESPN and CBS had going before.
Are YOU sure about that? I feel pretty confident that ESPN didn't sublease our MBB title game to CBS...

Reactions: no to expanding the American. None of the possible adds did sh//t to get us here, so eff em.
The P5 will not be getting raises next time around. They are overpaid now and will have to accept less later.
Should have done a GOR and gotten more money. Read my lips: ain’t none of us going anywhere! No one wants you or they would have you already.
The American has proven here that we are P6.
Expansion is about destroying the MWC's ability to take the NY6 bowl effectively making us an AQ conference.

I'll be interested to see how this all plays out. 12 years is a long time. BYU gets something like 4.5m, MWC gets slightly less than we WERE getting, right? If they both get raises when they renew, the gap might not be as big as we think. Time will tell.

If we want to be seen as legit players on the cfb stage our fanbases will need to ante up. I'm fine with that.

It would be nice if the payout tiers for that content were based on actual subscribers. We could get that unequal revenue sharing that everyone was wanting.

A total let down, this is half of what the AAC is worth right now, I would like to know more about the details of this contract before I get too bent out of shape

ESPN grabbed BYU's option, so that is probably a good estimate of their actual value.
mwc (Thompson) said months ago that they were offered extension at current prices, so that is probably a good marker of their actual value. They may go with less money and streamer to control kickoffs.
The dollars per viewer looks that had posters here saying "$6-8 million" work out to BYU ~$4.5 M and mwc ~$2M per school per year.

It's only a let down if you had unrealistic expectations. I for one am ecstatic.
