Assuming we are some where between 5-7 line. What 2-4 seed present the best and worst matchups? Hearing alot of mentiond for Kansas, but I think their athletic guards could give us some trouble. I wouldn't mind seeing Texas Tech out of the Big XII instead, even though I like this TT team, I think we could matchup with them, in what would likely be a game in the 60s.

Good question jarr. I agree with you on Kansas despite believing they are a very flawed team. I think mick could frustrate the hell out of LSU or Florida state despite them being uber talented. Kansas state would be another ideal draw. Honestly feel decent about Michigan or Purdue as well though those teams are really good.

As a 5 seed would like Kansas then GonZaga

Are there any tourney teams who shoot under 40% and dont crash the offensive glass at all?

Haven't watched a ton of CBB outside of the cats so don't have a ton of other input. Any squad with quick athletic guards/ wings will be trouble. Our matchup zone had been smoked by quick athletic guards/wings that can dribble drive into the lane. Out guards are too short and taller guards/ wings can shoot over them. I'm more ok with contested treys but we've been killed on contested mid range Js. It's crazy.

I feel like we always beat Purdue in everything so I would like to take them.

LSU would be trouble. I think KY would be trouble. This is also why I am weary of Kansas as well.

Only way a 5 or 6 is beat UH

I could see a drop to 8 if UH gives us another beatdown as no one respects the POWER6 called The American.

Mark I agree that Florida State would be a good matchup since Leonard Hamilton has never advanced to the Sweet 16 as a Top 4 seed, his teams have advanced to the Sweet 16 and last years Elite 8 as high seeds. Purdue would be a great matchup as well however I disagree with you on Michigan, they would absolutely drill us. They just crushed Iowa and Minnesota plus they always turn it on in March.

Naw, todays game will have no bearing on our seed, we will already be slotted. UH and loser of Mich-Mich St might switch.

Seconded. Completely irrational, but absolutely. Plus, it would be pretty funny to beat them again. I think they're still a bit salty from last time when they were so close, and if they aren't, they sure would be this go 'round. I do actually kind of feel bad for them on the football side of things... I guess they did win the Foster Farms Bowl a couple years ago though.

I doubt any such team would be even close to making the tournament.

Iowa? Tennessee?

I'd say they mostly match-up pretty well with Iowa on paper.

Pros: Overall athleticism advantage; should be able to get plenty in the paint and get plenty of 2nd chances; porous D in general; Iowa has few road/neutral wins of note this year; struggled down the stretch

They do have a very good and balanced offense with the ability to shoot it from a bunch of spots, but hopefully the physicality bothers them.

I like how we match up with Iowa. Not sure about Tennessee. We were underseeded big time though. After today we deserved no worse than a 6.

I will take a sleight at the seed line if it means we get a defacto home game. Usually we get super screwed. I am good with where we are.

Bottom line is to beat Tennessee UC would need to play great defense AND hope Tennessee has an off shooting night. However, that's often a formula for an upset. Make better teams beat you by hitting jump shots.

You can see the difference easily in the last 2 Houston games. On senior night, they were hitting everything and frankly it was somewhat embarrassing for us. In the championship a week later, the same shots weren't falling for them and it was their turn to look way outclassed.

Houston was depending on jump shots, and fewer were going in, probably due to tired legs.

UC actually went to the basket more than usual in the Houston game and depended less on jump shooting.
