Responding from bottom to top. I don't know about that last assertion. I think it was a great accomplishment, I just wish he hadn't accomplished it. Fortunately, he was pretty unsuccessful in implementing his socialist agenda. Unfortunately, he may have inspired the AOC's of the world and their ilk to accomplish what he couldn't.
I don't see filing for bankruptcy as that big a thing. When you do as many deals as he has done, some of them won't work, and most of those that don't work will end up in bankruptcy. I doubt that his record in that regard is any worse than average for people in his business, and I would guess it is somewhat better. I'm trying to talk a client out of a deal that has future bankruptcy written all over it. Bankruptcy is a way of live in the development and hospitality industries, and those are the two industries Trump has been in.
I don't know or care whether he is a multi-billionaire, a billionaire, a multi-millionaire, a millionaire, or broke. That's just not a big deal to me. I know which one I am, and that's all that really matters to me.

I don't care if he's a billionaire either, but I do care if he's lying about it. And no, bankruptcy isn't that big a deal...but it's probably pretty hard to bankrupt a casino...lol

Well, to know whether he is lying about it, we'd have to know the truth. And no, his tax returns won't reveal that, or even so much as a hint of that. And you, of all people should know that.

As far as bankrupting a casino, pay too much for the land or guess wrong on the customer growth, and you'll get there. The deal I'm trying to talk the client out of is an established money maker, but the seller wants probably 5 times its value, and the debt service will gobble up more than he'll make for the foreseeable future. It'd be a good deal for somebody who can pay cash and just sit back and wait on the real estate value to go up, but that's not my client.

Of course I'm aware that his tax returns have nothing to do with his worth. Of course I haven't said one word in this thread about his tax returns either.

But I would favor a law that requires presidential candidates of the major parties to disclose their most recent tax return(s) prior to the election.

Anyone watch the "Trump Dynasty" series on A&E (or maybe History Channel, not sure) the other week? I've watched the first 2 eps, and it's pretty well-balanced regarding who they talk to - they also use a recorded interview with him from 2013-14.

He basically can bluff that he could buy & sell each of us. That's it.

I know a lot of southerners who are pissed off at Jeff Sessions because he turned out to be such a wuss.
