Jeffries, wiseman, Thomas, and Dandridge will be huge improvements around the rim, in the paint, rebounding and defensively. Much better than this years squad

I disagree and I’m not tempering my expectations.

Gotta agree, especially for interior defense.

No question. Offensively too actually. None of our current bigs or forwards finish around the rim well or are good at scoring in the paint. Everyone of the new guys are way better at scoring in the paint and finishing at the rim.

No matter who else we get this team will need time to gel. And the experience teams will give us fits especially early in the year.

Well at least you acknowledged that this list isn’t the actual finished product. We’ll definitely add some more players and the way kids transfer these days, you’d think a player or 2 might leave.

Don’t know if any players are going to transfer out or even if we can afford to have any because of APR. But no matter who comes or goes the experience factor is going to cost us a few games.

FWIW, I don’t have what I would consider high expectations. However, most teams don’t land the #1 player in the nation very often. You have to capitalize on that while you can (AKA land other top recruits in 2019 and make some noise next season). Otherwise, you can guarantee there will be some hardcore negative recruiting against us.

“Yeah, well he had a top 10 recruiting class and the #1 player in the nation and still didn’t win.”

For Penny’s sake and the sake of the team going forward, you better hope we’re good next year; not “similar to this year’s team”. That would be a train wreck.

Which is why I think Penny grabs a grad transfer and or a mature jc player.

Gotta agree, especially for interior defense.

Our frontcourt will be improved.

Defensively we should be able to protect the rim much better...If our guards continue to get beat so thoroughly on the perimeter our bigs will bet in a ton of foul trouble though.

Rebounding should be improved slightly especially with how Thorton has been rebounding lately.

Our Frontcourt Offense should be improved as well with Wiseman all of the bigs except Dandridge being able to score...The questing will we be good enough on the perimeter to allow for decent spacing in the paint.

The improvement of the existing guards will determine how good this team will be (unless we add a stud guard)

We are going to be ranked pre season next year. Our talent level goes way up. I don’t agree that we will struggle next season. We will be very good and difficult to beat. We aren’t losing every big game prior to conference play. Wiseman and company aren’t signing up to fail just because we will be young.

We will still have some freshman. Fortunately I think it's easier for a big man to adapt to the college game than a guard. Having Lomax, who has played with Wiseman and Dandridge will be a big bonus. UTK will be a tough game on the road even though they are losing a lot of guys this year.

It would be highly unusual for us not to struggle. This team will have better chemistry than most young teams thanks to so many playing together at East.

Unfortunately we have Wiseman but for one year or this would remind me of the Laurinburg Prep team Cal brought in.

I think shy of getting a couple of truly talented veterans, and Watford, winning a NC is going to be tough next season.

We will return to the tourney, probably sweet 16, but beyond that will require some luck if we don't add depth.

To add that depth means at least one or two transfer out and Penny's son goes back to walk on.

If Penny adds the right pieces we can make a run for it all.

Not a knock on any of our young people, they are talented, but wih our youth next season it is definitely going to be difficult to win it all.

Remember even Bartow with Larry Finch and Ronnie Robinson needed Larry Kenon to transfer in.

I think we are in for some recruiting surprises yet.

A national title isn’t a consideration for me next year unless we land a few more high 5 star prospects. Even then, it seems unrealistic. I’m not sure any team that young has ever won it all. Of course, I’d love for the Tigers to prove me wrong.

Yeah a National Championship is not even anywhere near realistic.

UK has had this level of talent coming in every year and got 1.

Duke may get one this year but they have the 1,2 and 3 ranked players in the class and one of those guys seems to be a once in a decade talent.
