Tip of the hat for the channeling ( plagiarising? 03-wink ) JFK at Rice Stadium with that. Nice entendre for the response and awesome dual message....

Thank you!!

Being a former athlete, I can tell you that LOTS of us went to Rice specifically FOR the challenge. I know that's true of many students as well. I didn't know the JFK quote when I decided to attend Rice for the challenge, but it absolutely applies to me.

I'm betting lots of current students don't know the quote, but would agree as well.

THAT is who WE (Owls) are. We choose to do things BECAUSE they are hard.

My favorite home schedule in years.

In addition to UT, Wake, Baylor we get conference teams I want to see in USM, UNT, Marshall and LaTech

Staying home for September - such a crazy idea.

(And it might be, if a bunch of those games are scheduled for the afternoon. Obviously, NRG is indoors, but still.)

This is about as good of a schedule as you're going to get as CUSA is currently constituted.

Such a stout, front loaded schedule. I'm all for preseason optimism, but, that opening stretch before the bye is....yikes

Good news: no Thanksgiving Day weekend home game in front of dozens of fans. UTEP gets the honor of hosting the Owls on November 30 in Pillow Fight 3.

Barring a miracle, we open 0-4. Pretty solid chance of 0-6.

Were @UTSA and @UTEP which seem to be our weakest opponents.

Who is the 1 win?

Pretty crappy that the Army game is on a Friday night...would be an easier trip if it was on Saturday morning, especially given it is Labor Day weekend.

RE: 2019 Football Schedule
If we get some of the graduate transfers talked about in the recruiting thread, I can see us being .500 or better.

And this is a big if, but if the government shutdown is still continuing in August (I truly hope that's not the case), there is a chance that Army won't be able to play football next fall for budget reasons.

Huh?

I definitely think we'll be better than last year (especially if we land some of the transfers who are visiting)... Our schedule is tough but I'd put the O/U at 3 wins right now.

I agree and would take the over personally. I think our offensive line will be quite a bit better and that makes a world of difference.

I’m worried about Dline but I am every year. It’s not like we got too much pressure this year when we weren’t blitzing.

You're right. This is an attractive schedule for us. I wish we were ready for it. Long, tough season ahead.

I think so too. But we have zero gimme games next year (IMO, 2 season winless UTEP and FCS PV were our 2 last year)

I speculate we end up as betting dogs in every game next year.
