Definitely a valid point and concern that could become an even more serious problem, as you state. Wish that wasn’t the case but you’re right. Hopefully we’ll get the same from Toews.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if the plans are already in motion for Towes. Hope not.

I just don't get it, CJ could have been a complete stud here, now he's a middle of the pack guy on a P6. Same thing would apply with a guy like Kai. He can be special here.

At least in Bryce's case, he headed off to play for the coach that recruited him. I can't blame him for that. I'll blame Keatts for being merciless towards the program that gave him his first HC job, but that's been discussed ad nauseum.
These kids who sign on at a mid-major but leave for greener pastures, especially to programs whose coaches didn't give them the time of day when they were in HS, is not a good look for the kids or their parents.
But then again, this is a business and always has been. They're not student-athletes. They're athletes who are using their God-given talents to play the game and squeeze whatever they can out of those 4 years, wherever they happen to be playing and going to school.

I’m quite excited for Dodd and Boggs. Mix them in with the current talent and we are headed straight back to the top quick, IMO.

Wow UNCG with THREE of the top 16. That's as much as the other state schools combined in the top 16

All guys from the 336 too. Doing a great job at getting the guys right in their backyard.

What he's done there to past couple of seasons has been really impressive, will be interesting to see if Wake Forest comes calling in a couple of months. Some serious family connections there.

I'd be shocked if he doesn't land the WFU job. No connections or anything, but it's just too obvious.

Agree. I read some more about the WFU situation yesterday and it sounds like this is the last straw for Manning. I'm surprised based on name recognition alone, Manning wasn't able to do more there.

Such a tough place to recruit. Long gone are the days of Tim Duncan and Chris Paul.

Style of play and winning breeds success. Also, Greensboro is a hotbed for HS basketball, and as was stated he's doing a great job of keeping the hometown kids at home. Oddly enough, when I was in HS kids tried to escape their parents. Today, they are staying closer to home so they can attend their games.

For sure, but Winston is only what, an hour from Greensboro? Even getting the second tier guys initially, you hit on one or 2, you can build form that. Manning has actually had some decent talent, his issue has been that solid talent leaving.

Greensboro is about a twenty five minute drive from WS. Wake is such a hard job and always has been,it’s a lot like Boston College in that it is a smaller school, tough academically and very expensive. Love having them in the ACC but it is big boy basketball.

Exactly. It's not a matter of proximity. It's a matter of academic standards.
Wake is a private school with an enrollment of 7,440. UNCG is a public school with an enrollment of over 20,000. Two entirely different worlds.
I'm not trying to discredit what Wes Miller is doing at UNCG. Only stating that it is extremely tough to recruit at Wake, and has been for a long time.

Looks like class 2019 6'1 Guard Shykeim Phillips is on UNCW's radar. Haven't heard of him being a player of interest so I thought I'd add him to the thread. Here's the article stating UNCW is showing interest below.

Interesting prospect, and it mentions his propensity to play tough defense at least twice in the article.
Article also states he currently has offers from ezu, ODU, Presbyterian and South Carolina State. Towson is also interested in having interest. I could stand losing out on a talented recruit to ODU, but not to ezu, or an out of state school and/or CAA member.
