Tulsa and UConn are on the NIT bubble. Everyone wants to think the NIT has 32 teams. It does, but 10-12 of those are bid thieves. So you have to be really in the top 80-85 to get in the NIT.

Likewise, the NCAA Tourney has 68 teams .. but the bottom tiers are well below 68. So the NIT cut off is well under 100 accounting for that and the "auto bids" for the NIT

hey I'll take that over HLOH where I'm #353.....

they're melting down over the NET over there btw. Can't stand that they're #3 in RPI and #5 in NET. It's actually pretty funny to watch.

They killed the NIT when they changed the format.

yeah but they don't hurt the conference as much in NET as they did in RPI....

just look this week....
Cincy NET is 25 same as prior to playing Tulane
SMU NET is 132 up 6 despite playing ECU

now in RPI
Cincy RPI is 40 same as prior to playing Tulane
SMU RPI is 193 same as prior to playing ECU

so it's not hurt either one. In fact, SMU improved some.

Almost all that. ORU also won. The Utah win was huge, it bumped them way up and by default Tulsa. It seems the NET doesn't punish you too hard for losing games you are suppose to, but you can get quite a bump from upsets.
