Ive carried a few different guns but recently bought a Sig P320 40S&W compact... and love it.

Kel-Tec .380

Smaller than my wallet, accurate, and cheap. I've carried 9mm, and .40 calibers by various manufacturers before, but none are as lightweight small with the knockdown power.

I have a Glock 19 in my car and a S&W shield in my sock drawer. Looking about maybe getting something smaller for EDC.

What Is Your Handgun Preference
3 young kids so I go with a Louisville Slugger next to my bed and a tire iron on the passenger seat floorboard in my car. I do have a small POS gun... not even sure what it is... that I took away from my alcoholic dad, but it is locked away with no clip.

RE: What Is Your Handgun Preference
My firearms were all lost in a horrible boating accident when I was taking them all for a ride in a authentic birch bark canoe and we hit a stump in 200 feet of water, but let's theorize that I still had them. I would mostly carry my Ruger LC9 because it was super compact and super accurate. Every now and then depending on the situation or just to switch things up I would carry my S&W Model 60 .357 revolver.

Back when I had my firearms and was hunting or fishing in nasty stuff I'd carry the Hi Point .40 cal. It's heavy, clunky, and ugly as homemade sin but it went off every pull of the trigger, was fairly accurate and if I lost it in the swamp or overboard I was out less than a hundred bucks.

If I were in the market for another handgun I believe my next purchase would be a Taurus 1911 Officer model .45ACP. I was at the rangershooti......I mean watching other people shoot and a frien....some unknown stranger had one that I trie.....admired from afar. It shot.....I mean it looked like it shot like a dream.

OMG, just think about how much paperwork you would have to do, and what a hassle it would be, if this actually happened and we had firearms registration.

RE: What Is Your Handgun Preference
If hunting squirrels I prefer my single shot 410 my grandfather gave me.

Hunting I have Remington 12 gauge automatic shotgun, a Remington 12 gauge pump, and a Remington 270 rifle.

For checking game cams I have a Ruger P345

My latest acquisition is a Kimber 1911.

But these stayed locked up and out of sight out of mind due to having a small one in the house. In usually take my Bowtech compound bow hunting.

I would imagine having your attacker laughing at your shortcomings could be an effective defense.

Glock 19. Best all around (value, quality, size, capacity) handgun you can buy, in my opinion.

Though, if you want to spend $200-$300 more, CZ makes some great stuff.

Only mod I made was a more "grippy" hand grip.

Looks good, smooth, accurate.....

Taurus 454 Casull. Kicks like a Clydesdale and you have to be a bodybuilder to keep it level, but even if you don't hit your target the first time, when they hear it go off and feel the wind next to them release a sonic boom like an F-14 just passed them within inches, they'll turn tail and run faster than the Flash.

I'd like to get a M1911 as my practical weapon.

Meh, I keep moving to states that don't allow, or easily allow, concealed carry...or carry. Stupid liberal states where the criminals are armed and the citizens are sitting ducks.

I'm pretty sure that I have to ask a home invader if it is OK that I shoot him before retrieving my firearm. Pretty Please Mr. Criminal?

Not to mention the fear factor that has to be there from looking down a muzzle that looks as big as an oil can.

Check out the Taurus Officer 1911 I mentioned earlier. If I were to ever get over the grief of losing my firearms in that horrible boating accident I'd certainly have it in my "must purchase" list.

How often do you carry the 229, found it too heavy to be an every day carry
