Besides the bad decision to throw into double coverage in the end zone they look sharp AND WELL PREPARED.

17-0 so far...... That’s what a prepared MAC team looks like.

Congrats to Ohio on the bowl win!

Sure helps to draw the 6th place team in a mid major conference for a bowl game. Seems similar to NIU drawing 4th place Fresno in the 2010 Potato Bowl.

Carey needs to have an audience with Solich, get down on his knees and ask "How do you win bowl games?"

Well it certainly helps to finish 3rd in the conference and draw a 6th place team from another mid major conference in a bowl game instead of a conference champion.

And there are probably plenty of Ohio fans who’d like to trade a bowl win over a 6th place team for a conference title that the great Frank Solich has never been able to realize in his tenure that’s twice as long as Carey’s

We lost to San Diego State last year. Ohio blowing them out is impressive no matter how you spin it.

Since money is so tight, as long as Carey is coach I do think a discussion needs to be had whether NIU should accept bowl invites. It is either A) coaches dont know how to prepare a team for the game or B) they dont care about the game. Either way it is quickly becoming a waste of time and damaging to the program to be embarrassed on yearly basis. Just competing would be an accomplishment

Please don't go there. CBSSports.com has an article ranking the conferences and the Mountain West is 7th while the MAC is supposedly 9th. So is finishing sixth in the 7th-rated league that much beneath third place in the 9th-best conference?
Then again, this article had the MAC rated ahead of Conference USA. So how does the lower-rated CUSA champ thump the MAC champion? You can spin it any way you want, but I bet OU fans are okay celebrating a bowl-game shutout victory in comparison to how most NIU fans are feeling after the Boca bungle.

Not sure last year is much of a comparison. They finished 10-3, had Rashaad Perny, and were undefeated on their way into the Top 25 when we almost beat them at their place.

Nobody turns down bowl games. No precedent. Fake news.

A bowl game has been turned down before. But hey I will shut up, I think we are all just frustrated. Time heals all wounds, and this is going to sting for awhile.

We would not have score 27 against San Diego State....

+1 some of you guys are in denial to what crappy football looks like. Call it like you see it. NIU wet the bed for the 7th bowl game in a row.
