I don't blame Southern fans. The $20 bucks they save could've been spent on gnat repellant or for date night with their sister.

Hard to say how many actually bought, but it was noticeable enough the school went back and voided all the tickets.

It caught on to the point where our Director of Ticketing Operations was about to send back the allotment today.

I mean how are you going to sell tickets to your fans when State is giving them tickets for free? Might as well give them their tickets back so they can give those away too.

Not when tons of folks have Ticketmaster tickets in hand.

Again, he was not the one giving out free tickets

You're just mad you didn't get the opportunity. Think of how many 40's and Black&Milds you could have bought with $20. You'd be the most popular guy in the homeless shelter.

Your athletic department handed out free tickets and we got some. Now your athletic department is voiding all of them.

You were not given the invitation. You found it. If you find a wallet, and you decide to use the credit cards as your own that is illegal. Feel free to read the 90 pages of a terms of service agreement you agreed to on that site.

Not saying they should round you up, but the whole finders keepers thing is kind of naive as well.

A coupon and a credit card are two completely different things friend 03-lmfao

Yeah. It is like you found a credit card number. You don't even have the card.

From the terms of service you agreed to...
"A ticket is a revocable license and admission may be refused upon refunding the ticket’s face amount."
The face value from the confirmations I saw say $0.00.

The credit card analogy is a lame one. No one got into "your wallet" and stole a card then used it. You purposefully put out a promotion that you hoped would bring a couple extra people in the door. Then when you realized that way more people were using it you said Holy #$%^&*(, then panicked and closed it down.
I would bet that every ticket has the same basic thing written on it somewhere so they can cover their butts if they need to kick anyone out for any reason. You are on private property, so any team at any time can not allow entrance if they don't want to. It doesn't change the fact that its a bouchedag move to do so in this case.

Face it, you had a promotion that was not well thought out. GS fans took you up on the offer of free tickets and it hurt your wittle feewings. If it weren't just a reaction to GS fans and losing money, the entire promotion would have been changed, not just our game. Does it say anywhere on the promotion that it is only for local area residents? The only difference in us doing it vs say a Coastal fan or a TX St fan doing it is the number of fans that will show up. They don't care if it's only 50 fans from Coastal that use it. But when it's 1000+ fans from Southern, then it's a big deal because you are losing money.

I can see stopping the promotion when you found out you were about to lose a lot of money on it. What I can't see if revoking everything and acting like it never happened. That's just bad business.

RE: Thanks for the free tickets Ga State!
I can understand Georgia State wanting to help build up there fan base by offering free tickets to people that live in the neighborhoods around the stadium. But in my opinion they went about it in the wrong way. They could have set up where the tickets had to be picked up from the ticket office or will call on game day by showing proof of living in those neighborhoods.

More than that, but I guess you have a point...... a couple dozen tickets being sold would be rare enough to throw up a red flag and make the ticket office take notice.

You can't make this stuff up. First of all, free tickets in mass quantity is never a good thing. All it does is demoralize the season ticket holders! Have a promotion vs an opponent (with a crappy date like Thursday game) that locals are not familiar with. Thursday is a televised game and already a tough sell to ticket holders.

I was watching the available seat chart from the beginning yesterday morning. The day began with maybe 1/3 of section 131 and almost all of 130 and 132 available. By the time GaSt pulled the plug, 131 was completely gone. 130 was 90% gone and over half the seats in 132 had been claimed.

With right around 300 seats listed in each section, I’d ballpark it at 500-600 seats claimed. That’s upwards of $15,000 that the Panthers tried to flush down the toilet.

EDIT: For whatever reason, those using mobile devices to claim their seats were only given seating options in the sections behind home plate rather than the seats behind the GS bench in shallow right center. I wasn’t keeping tabs on those corner sections, so that $15,090 mark is likely undershooting it by a good bit.

I never... ever... ever... want to hear that you guys are not obsessed with us.

1. Y'all found a coupon that most of us GSU fans(and obviously Atlanta) didn't know existed.
2. You then spent the day watching the seating chart for this game. Counted the amount of seats taken.

Again 90% of the GSU fans I spoke to are perfectly fine with grouping the 300-600 of you up(the GSU number I am hearing is closer to 300) and honor the tickets in 106 with the caveat that they are not for resale and non transferable. If Southern wants to send back their allotment, it would be their loss. Southern fans are still going to come to this game. It just means 100% of the funds will be going to GSU when the other 8-10k of you buy tickets.

I just want to know one thing... which ones of you are assigned the Georgia State desk at the GATA Skunkworks. I imagine a dark office with a spotlight on a bust of Erk in the middle of the room. His "We are Georgia Southern" speech playing on repeat in the background. You have the App State cube farm, which is the largest school team. Researching the best goat jokes since you really don't have any footing to talk smack to them. You can hear Hot! Hot! Hot! playing in this area from time to time in order to recharge the research batteries for this group. The Georgia State cube area is growing. They are search for the best photo angles to make it look like there is no one attending a game. And have expanded their dirt search since the last 3 GSU coaches have beaten the last 3 Georgia Southern coaches. They are required to have dumpster fires as their computer backgrounds. Finally, the largest team is the Triple Option defense team. Constantly working to defend a dying offense. I mean, is it a part of freshmen orientation or some sort of alumni requirement? I mean it is really something.
