No, they don't want Trump to meet with Mueller because they don't trust Mueller to conduct such a meeting in an ethical manner.

If I were Trump's lawyer, I would strongly discourage such a meeting except under controlled circumstances, such as Hillary's meeting with Comey.

People say if you are innocent, you should not fear the truth. As long as the prosecutor leaves ethically, no worries. But this investigation has not been conducted ethically, so why should one expect them to start doing so now?
