What's next? UC colluded with the Russians to sway the tournament results?

bro breon brady (our starting center had his 4th foul, with 2:46 left in the 1st half...we were still up 14 at that point), at that point zanna (back up center had 3 fouls), breon fouls out a minute into the second half, zanna had 4 with all the second half to go
fabian white another big get his 4th with most of the second half to go, eventually fouling out

you really think its a conspiracy theory to think that affected the game?????

YOUR HEAD COACH said when you play houston "they will either beat you or they will foul out"...this was after the second game, Houston wasnt in foul trouble in the second game, why would he mention that at all....why would he say that when he has already beat them SIMPLY by "just getting their heads out of their a** "
clearly foul trouble should have no affect onthe game...
homer glasses are strong on you

Through my UC homer glasses I see a 2-1 record against Houston, the regular season championship and the conference tournament championship.

I don't plan on going to the optometrist any time soon.

The better team won. Foul trouble in a basketball game means you are either a step slower or bad technique not that you should win because you are manly. Houston has solid guard play but the 4 and 5 were basically 5 solid fouls for your team.

lets not make a debate about this again, but foul trouble doesn't just come from those 2 things, especially when it didn't happen in either of the other 2 meetings.... but like the original point said, we will see things how we want to

lmao!! its our school slogan

I know. With all respect to Houston since it now has quality football and basketball, can't it come up with a more quality slogan? Every time I hear, "Whose House? Coogs House!" a little part of me dies.

UConn is a major offender as well. The lame "UUUUUconn! HUUUUskies!" chant also slowly tears at my soul.

I will give Houston credit for that spread fingered "The Shocker" hand sign, though. UConn has nothing on that. In fact, our football program isn't worth any hand sign other than the middle finger.

The schools " Womp Womp" is second to none. Well the unofficial official version of it at least so it balances itself out.

Wut? How can you NOT like "Whose House? COOGS HOUSE!"

It's right up there with classics like "boomer. sooner.", "woo pig sooie", and way TONS better and aggressive than lame-o "texas. fight." or even a retard aggie yell like "farmers fight". lol

Kinda depends on how the year goes.

Not counting the first 4 games at TSU against no names, the new arena holds a few more than 7K and there will be 16 games.

I expect sellouts for Oregon, LSU & Cincy. I am hoping for sellouts against Wichita St, SMU, UCF, Memphis, Temple & Saint Louis.

As for ECU, USF, Tulsa, Utah St, Coppin St, Lamar and NJIT, I am hopeful for two-thirds full.

Out of 16 games at the new Fertitta Center, I am expecting 88-96K in attendance (5.5K to 6K per game).

The tougher team won... 1 out of three games.

read cronin quotes he references the 1st game..he says they will beat you or foul out...
he is referencing when houston was up 18 in the first game till we got in foul trouble.

all things considered we were projected 6th you were projected 1
& it took us blowing a 18 point lead from to not win a regular season title
& and a unforced turnover to not have a shot at a conference title

He is absolutely not referencing foul Trouble.

Dude, he is referencing Houston using fouling as a strategy. They were gonna foul every play and make the refs call it or make it really tough on UC.

Stop

Lol. The fact you blew an 18 point lead shows were the tougher team. Most teams fold down that much. UC never panicked and won.

And we won two out of 3. Seriously you have a lot of excuses and what if’s. We played 3x and we won the series, their is no doubt who is better

Well I guess it's all in how you look at it.

Being that we ended up winning that game by 10, one could say that UC stomped you once they woke up and pulled their head out of their a**.

ill take it...like you said its how you look at it

you are free to see it as they woke up and pulled their head out of their a**

im free to notice that EVERY single big that gets any minutes for houston had 4 fouls by early second half..and we gave you guy a lot of uncontested shots and played timid in fear of fouling out..coincidentally when your turnaround started
[Image: mQNWkr.gif]

Omg not this **** again.

Lol Houston was one of the most fouling teams in the country. You literally did what you always do.

Please include the pass that lead to the Evans dunk. Evans didn’t drive down the lane with the ball, he was off ball, made a cut through the lane and good pass was made and Houston players didn’t wanna get dunked on. They had absolutely zero chance to block this shot. Just stop.

he said this after already playing us.....your logic only makes sense if this was the first game.

plays houston: houston up big, gets in foul trouble, cincy comes back and wins
plays houston again: houston not in foul trouble. houston wins
your coach after both games: when you play houston they will either foul out or they will win

anyone with general logic skills can tell what he meant.. no need for metal gymnastics...

i never even debated "who was better" that is pure subjective, not sure why you are bringing that up..also saying there is "no doubt" is pure bias on your part. but ive known you are a super homer so i dont care..as a uc fan i expect you to say that.
--only someone who hasnt played basketball before would judge something as "without a doubt", seeing how close our standing finishes were and how close our games were...similar to how golden state wasn't the best team in the league because they didnt finish #1 in the west 07-coffee3

im not going to debate "best", thats opinion, you are allowed to have whatever opinion you want......
as far as "tougher" your head coach said it was houston...YOUR HEAD COACH...this was said after the 18 pt comeback.....but lets those homer spirits fly

justin stop..i hate your mental gymanstics..... be rational for once in your life

if he was talking about the strategy he would have talked about strategy....in the full quote he then mentions rebounding, dving for loose balls....anyone not blind would see he was talking about not giving up on any play and willing to put everything on the line

the full quotes with any non blind homer makes that very clear, that houston plays like they are hungry and desperate to win, that he saw the same in the Wichita game....that uc lacked the toughness in a "backyard brawl" & that cost them (his words not mine)...that statement wasnt an indictment on a houston "fouling strategy" (that you made up) but he was praising houston for their effort/ desire to win

if he was talking about fouling strategy, he would have mentioned how it was affecting your guys. he doesnt mention anything about that... his whole point that whole post game conference was that houston was hungry and play like it..and that you have to play with that kind of similar toughness if you want to beat them, if they arent in foul trouble.

you made up some BS theory about a "fouling strategy" and now putting that ridiculous thought into your coaches mouth, even though he said no such thing..

stop it

the full quotes with any non blind homer makes that very clear, that houston plays like they are hungry and desperate to win, that he saw the same in the Wichita game....that uc lacked the toughness in a "backyard brawl" & that cost them (his words not mine)...that statement wasnt an indictment on a houston "fouling strategy" (that you made up) but he was praising houston for their effort/ desire to win

if he was talking about fouling strategy, he would have mentioned how it was affecting your guys. he doesnt mention anything about that... his whole point that whole post game conference was that houston was hungry and play like it..and that you have to play with that kind of similar toughness if you want to beat them, if they arent in foul trouble.

you made up some BS theory about a "fouling strategy" and now putting that ridiculous thought into your coaches mouth, even though he said no such thing..

stop it

Being as I listen to every radio interview, every press conference and everything Cronin has to say, I know his context.

And he elaborated on this even more on the radio only interview that I listened to. He said Houston had 15 fouls to give from their bigs and they intended on using every single one of them. That’s fouling as a strategy.

In 3 games Houston committed 67 fouls and UC committed just 44 fouls.

UC won the rebounding war 99-97.. and won the war in both games in which they won. That’s a toughness factor. UC offensive rebounded a higher percentage of its misses its 2 out of 3 games.

Toughness didn’t get Houston up 18 against UC. Making shots did. They hit a lot of 3’s that extended the lead, UC was never punked in that game and ended up winning ever meaningful stat.

Houston isn’t the toughest team in the country. Not even the toughest in their league.

Did they try to play bully ball (sometimes to their detriment ) and rack up a bunch of fouls ? Sure.
