Exclamation The best season from every AAC program
College football's greatest teams: The best season from every AAC program
Barrett Sallee from CBS Sports

Interesting picks. Not every selection was the highest final ranking for each team (e.g., USF).

Cincinnati (2009)
Record: 12-1 (7-0 Big East) | Final ranking: No. 8

East Carolina (1991)
Record: 11-1 (Independent) | Final ranking: No. 9

Houston (2015)
Record: 13-1 (7-1 AAC) | Final ranking: No. 8

Memphis (2014)
Record: 10-3 (7-1 AAC) | Final ranking: No. 25

Navy (1926)
Record: 9-0-1 (Independent) | Final ranking: n/a

SMU (1982)
Record: 11-0-1 (7-0-1 SWC) | Final ranking: No. 2

South Florida (2007)
Record: 9-4 (4-3 Big East) | Final ranking: NR

Temple (2015)
Record: 10-4 (7-1 American) | Final ranking: NR

Tulane (1939)
Record: 8-1-1 (5-0 SEC) | Final ranking: No. 5

Tulsa (1942)
Record: 10-1 (5-0 MVC) | Final ranking: No. 4

UConn (2010)

in my opinion 2007 was our best fbs season, we were co big east champs with top 5 ranked WVU And finished 9-4 (5-2) and we went into bowl season ranked in the top 25, but got upset by wake forest lol. I know we didn't make a bcs bowl, but i dont think anyone was beating 4th ranked wvu on the day we played them for the bcs spot lol

RE: The best season from every AAC program
If you mean in the AAC era, then yes.

If you mean all-time, then 2015 wasn't even close. There were at least five teams that were better than the 2015 team, including the 2011 team which picked the wrong game to have their worst game of the season.

Memphis has gone undefeated. So, at least with Memphis, that info is incorrect.

Memphis went 10-0 in 1938 and 9-0-1 in 1963.

This is not correct with respect to the Temple Owls. The 1979 team beat California in their bowl game and finished 17th in the rankings.

I know Tulane went 12-0 and finished in the top 10. OP has a lot of this wrong.

So it is clear that the list is incorrect for most, if not all of the schools. Who came up with this list?

Not sure 1963 was better than 2014. The only teams with a pulse Memphis beat in '63 were Miss. St. and Southern Miss. In 2014 it was Cincy, Temple and BYU, with a bowl win and a national ranking. The 1938 season I don't recognize most of the teams.

He might have gotten that one right.

I don't think the writer is referring to final record as the metric for greatest season. For USF, the 2007 season was great because of being ranked #2 in the country. The last 2 years we've had 10+ wins each season.

UCF (2017)

1998 was best record..12-0... final ranking 7 was lowere than 1939.. but the 12-0 team could have beaten anybody.

That tie, the only blemish, was against Ole Miss who finished #7 in both polls and went to the Sugar Bowl. Anyway, that isn't the only problem with the OPs list by a long shot.

Btw - that '63 team finished ranked #14. And not sure why you assert that the 10-0 Memphis team doesn't count - especially when the OPs list includes teams that predate that. Sounds all made-up on the fly to be honest.

Don't forget that going into championship week in that 2009 season we were ranked 3rd. Had the B12 not added time back on the clock so that Texas could win the B12 championship game, it would have been UC in the BCS championship.

So... the B12 was screwing us over before they screwed us over.

I mean assuming the year we made our only bcs bowl is our best year, is a no brainier for non uconn fans. But, most UConn fans will consider 2007 as our best year IMO. I agree man, i know for a fact that uh has had better seasons in tougher conferences lol
