FWIW, I'll be sure to name a sewer after that drunk SOB. He beat women and legend has it he shot a dog while on a bender. He was a nasty, vitriolic little man who was as bad as they come.

He made Andrew Dice Clay look like Susan B. Anthony. The way he would talk to and about conservative women like Ann Coulter and Kellyanne Conway sickened me.

And also - Alan Colmes was a great guy. Disagreed with him but a genuine good person so don't give me a line about how unclassy I am. (I save my unclassiness for football season, lol)

I liked Ed... a true champion of the working man when no one else would offer them a voice.

RIP Ed Schultz

He may have supported the working man at one time but for me, being a louse of a human being trumps (pardon the pun) a lot of personal beliefs.

Which is why I lauded Alan Colmes. And Tim Russert as well. Both were legitimate news people.

Ed Schultz was a really, REALLY nasty SOB. A nasty drunk, which is the worst kind of drunk, IMO. I mean, yeah, sure, maybe alcohol played a part but that doesn't justify being a woman beater as well as a nasty vulgar mean SOB.

Lastly - you know Trump doesn't drink ? Never has. He said in an interview years ago (when he was single and hadn't met Melania Knauss) that what he looks for in a prospective spouse is no tattoos, no smoking, little to no drinking, no drugs, etc...

The man has damn fine taste in women that Donald Trump....

Haven't seen a credible source aluding to Schultz's drinking and wife beating ways... link?

Not wanting to go after the dead, just answering your request for a link...

Quote:In 2007, Schultz was even accused of hitting a woman during a bar fight.

Now, it turns out that Schultz’s first wife, TV journalist Maureen Zimmerman, obtained a temporary protection order against him on Nov. 2, 1995 amid their divorce proceedings. The couple was living in North Dakota. Zimmerman filed for divorce on Jan. 21, 1993.

Schultz, married to his second wife Wendy Schultz since 1998, has long endeavored to keep the matter under wraps. But when blindsided about the edict in depositions for an unrelated lawsuit filed against him by an NBC sound engineer, he stumbled through a series of contradictory and evasive responses.

“I am going to have to plead a 5th on that [question],” said Schultz. “I don’t—I don’t remember.”

Wait. He’s taking the Fifth on something he is not sure happened?

When cross examined, Schultz said, “I don’t—I mean, I cannot definitively say if a restraining order has ever been filed against me. I—possibly, I honestly can’t remember.”

Jeffrey Landa, the lawyer for Schultz, feverishly tried to stop the questioning, claiming it was irrelevant to the allegations by NBC sound engineer Michael Queen that Schultz owes him money for arranging his MSNBC show. Queen is suing Schultz in federal court.

a restraining order during a divorce proceding does not mean the guy ever hit his ex-wife...

and in this case, it was never proven that a restraining order was ever issued.

Just like Elizabeth Warren, they both switch parties. At least Elizabeth does not get drunk and beats up other people.

I remember his TV show a while back but I sort of lost track of wether or not it was still on.

I mostly remember his being a political bomb thrower and little more.

At the time, he was the blue collar version of Rush Limbaugh.

He was way way left. I will say that I respected that he'd take his show and cover the blue collar guys he thought he was fighting for. No one else at MSNBC would do that.

We don't wish death on those we disagree with or throw parties when those we disagree with die. That is a lib tradition and they are good at it.
