Disagree. He needs every vote he can get. Never count out McCain and a couple of other "principled" (aka siding with dims) pub senators from stabbing the president in the back.

McCain, Corker and Flake all come to mind.

Flake, McCain, and Corker would.

Beat me to it.

Would set a TERRIBLE precedent, but it's an option
First off all, a 50-49 majority would be politically incapable of pulling off a stunt like that. Secondly, it would have a devastating impact in the polls for the party that tried it — including the president, the senators, and the judicial nominee. If I believed it was a true, full-scale national emergency, I might support such an effort in spite of those negative consequences. But we’re nowhere close to that right now.

Trump is going to just nominate someone that will hold all 50 GOP votes, plus Manchin and maybe 1 or 2 others. The vote will be in late September, and that will be the end of it.

You might as well check off ND and WV as Republican pick ups. Even if Bredesen pulls the upset in TN and a Dem wins Arizona, we're still at 51 GOP seats. It will be more than 51. Stall now, fine. Cant use the "wait until after the election" excuse once the GOP gains seats in November. Trump will get his pick. Deal with it.

Don't be so sure of TN....

Phil Bredesen (D) was a popular mayor of Nashville.
Marsha Blackburn ® borders on RINO.

Personally, I don't like that she's the nominee.

Currently, the polls show this race as a toss-up.

It would only be considered an "upset" given that the seat would flip.

If the Republicans hang Chuck Schumer around Bredesen's neck he has no chance in TN.

Confirm a conservative before the midterm. Anything else is foolish. Trump still has a decent shot at two more picks before his tenure is up...especially if he gets re elected. RBG could be out at any moment and Thomas is due to retire soon. I bet Thomas does so before 2020 to insure his replacement is of like mind.

What ivory tower do these nutbag “theorists” reside?

Sure, go for it. Try and do in the courts what you can’t and haven’t been able to accomplish at the ballot box...

Cuz 18 months of the Drumpf. Lol

The next time things flip they’ll just go from 11 to 13, or perhaps 17, heck why not, how about 51?!?

Render the SC irrelevant entirely.

You leftists just need to suck it up, buttercup.

The PEOPLE have spoken, well over a thousand times now.

The spectacular failure on all fronts of the last 8 years has exposed the inability of the left to govern responsibly.

Bout time the adults were back in charge.

Go get your pink knit hats out of the dirty clothes pile, it’s time for a MAAARCH!!!!

El oh, freaking El.

The left is beginning to wake up to the realization that not only is Donald Trump going to be a two-term president, he's going to leave behind a Supreme Court that will yank them around for decades to come.

I honestly can't see how some of you that are conservative want Trump to wait. Wait for what? We can ram this nomination through whether the Demons like it or not. Nothing the Reps do is good enough for them anyway so why care? This also will show those states that Trump won to see if the Demons running for reelection will vote for the nominee. If you wait something might happen that will force those Demons to not care and vote for the last time against the Republicans. At least having that reelection hanging over their heads they might think twice.

Do IT NOW!

Ram it and cram it through.
To hell with the jackasses.
Then get rid of Ginsburg and Breyer and have a 7-2 split.

Probable would take a 7-2 to get to a solid 5-4 majority. Right has been burned more than once on supposed conservatives who get liberal once on the court. Robert's already disappointed on occasions.

I wouldn't say he supported it but he certainly pulled his decision out of his ass and got the law wrong. Unexplainable.

Find a Pro-Choice (but not Pro-public funding for it), but otherwise conservative female judge and remove the fangs from the snake on the abortion issue. Get it done prior to midterms.
