Quit making excuses dude. Burks played 40 minutes in the first game.

As for Peneva, he made some hay when Porter was in foul trouble, but could do nothing when Porter was on the floor.

Haha. ODU had a 20 point lead in the first game. The refs started calling everything on ODU and the game got closer than it should have. Not only that ODU was like 2nd in the league in 3 point shooting during conference play. Ahmad Caver and BJ Stith, who both return btw, probably hit 10 threes in those 2 games.
They got soo lucky in the tournament. Getting to play southern miss, then a bruised up WKU team that couldn’t make a layup in the title game and Elmore was hitting 30 footers. Yet they won by 1 point... Marshall fans should stick to football.

What do you think caused Marshall's 19 turnovers? Surely not defense, no that cannot be it. Marshall surely shot itself in the foot.

I appreciate you giving us "gongratz" whatever the hell that is, but we don't really need it. We know where Marshall basketball ranks compared to ODU, solidly at 0-2 during their best season ever.

Anyway ...... So ODU managed to defeat the great Marshall team in both of their matchups last season with "no shooters on the team that can consistently shoot beyond 12-15 feet"? Doesn't say much for Marshall then. If that were true then it wouldn't take Einstein to determine that Marshall could just pack all 5 players back into a condensed 15 foot zone and do much better than they did. By the way, Michael Hueitt shot 47.4% from 3 last season in his limited minutes as a freshman.

Don't forget though, ODU didn't beat Marshall, the flu did.

4)Man or Zone it didn't matter, ODU didn't score enough
5)Jeff Jones is 114-58 and has never got ODU over the hump and to the dance, I guess I can give you props on your 2016 Vegas16, I mean Vegas8 Championship.


There are more than a few ODU fans on this board that think they are above this conference, when in reality ODU hasn't done crap in this conference since joining.

Here's the simple truth, Id take this D'Antoni coached team over any ODU team has put on the floor the last 10 years, including your 2010 team.

And you must have your eyes closed when you come over here. Quite a few of us are dissatisfied with the current staff and where the program is at. A lot of us feel like we are in one of the worst stretches... and yet, during one of ODU's worst stretches in recent history, ODU still beat the best Herd team in 30 years (twice). I wish we were on the same side of the bracket for the tournament, but I guess the flu caused your team to get no higher than a 4 seed. Too bad.

Once again, Burks played 40 minutes in the first game and was totally healthy. I was there.

Yep. I remember that as well, along with the ridiculous officiating that let Marshall back in the game. So I already knew that Herdzone's statement was false before looking it up.

How sad is it when your team finally gets to the NCAA's for the first time in 50 years, and yet you feel the need to make up excuses to cover for regular season losses?
