Also enjoy FTWD so bite me haters.

Because some of us saw a lot of potential in the show early on to be good television. However over the past several seasons, the writers have gotten lazy, don't bother to come up with creative plots or bother with continuity. I have continued to watch because I invested in the show but it has continued to disappoint.

I want my TV to be quality, not just something that appeals to the lowest common denominator. TWD got lazy.

I watched the first season of Fear the Walking Dead, and it wasn't good. I quit watching because I wasn't invested in it. I hear it is better now, but I won't invest again, especially since that hack, Scott Gimple is now the show runner.

Based on the promotional output, it looks like the network is moving on to FTWD anyway.

I don't understand the drive to end the show. Seems like saying Yorktown is a good place for American history to end.

One is a TV Show. The other isn't.

It's a TV show about life, and life doesn't stop at convenient points. i know some of you want Darryl to marry Carol, amd Maggie to fall for Jesus, amd so we cam have a double wedding final episode, buy wh is it neccesary? the show itself may come to a natural end, due to falling ratings or actor defectins, but the narratove of their lives has no emd, amy more than history has an emd.

Last I heard on the matter is the AMC guys have taken over lead on the direction the last couple years and that is mostly why the show has begun to tank. When network executives get involved it almost always goes straight down hill. It's not the same show it was. They're after shock value and cheap plots which is not what I watch the show for.

Stop watching. I have stopped watching shows before.

If enough people stop, they will end the show. But until then, there is no reason within the TWD narrative to all of a sudden just quit. It's not like they were going to get Eugene to the CDC and he would find a cure and everybody would live happily ever after. Not that kind of show. It is a show about the ongoing struggles to survive in a fictional world. Key word: ongoing. It's not a show about looking for treasure, that ends when it is found. It is not a show about the search for a cure for Parkinson's, that ends when it is found.

I am watching The Terror right now. Clearly that show will end when all the people on those two ships are dead. It has an ending built into it. I am also watching The Crossing. That show will end when the ratings say they will. It does not have an ending built into it. It won't be because it reached the predetermined end point.

TWD could be another Star Trek. (remember, ST was canceled) Maybe in a couple of years, we will be watching TWD The Next Generation, and we can watch how Judith runs her little band of survivors as they explore Canada.

So you think shows about "life" should go on forever. Huh.

They have lost over half their peak audience. Its time to pull the plug. Theve even stopped promoting it. Going with FTWD instead. If you think the show is still great then watch it and savor its mediocrity. We have just as much right to trash it though.

RE: OT: The Walking Dead [Warning: Spoilers]
If a person wants the show to end......turn your TV to something else.

It really is that simple and I've done it many times. It's not for me to tell a show, I don't like you any longer, I think you are not living up to what I think a show should be and I get to say what happens. So now you must stop this, not next season or three seasons but today. It doesn't matter if millions still watch the show each week. If I dont like it they should either.

My opinion is the only one that matters and It doesn't matter if I can just not watch... I want others to not be able to watch it also. Critics like myself know more than these other people. We know good writing. We know when a show must end. We demand it! These other millions watching and seem to be OK with it. They aren't like us informed viewers.

That's what you got out of that? Guess I didn't dumb it down enough.

what is the point of trashing a show you don't watch? Is it your mission in life to save us from enjoying mediocrity?

You would have made a great advocate for cancelling Star Trek 40 or so years ago.

Listen, I won't criticize what you want to watch if you won't criticize what I want to watch.

When Rome burned people stood around and watched. I imagine they commented on it as well. I'll hang around watching TWD burn and comment on it as long as I please. For those that don't like that they can take their own medicine and avoid this thread. Or they can be adults and accept that there are other opinions on the show. I still watch this show to see what clown-ass garbage they're going to pull next. It's sort of a hobby now. And I comment positively when I see things I like about it. Engaging someone whose opinion you know is negative about the show is just as dumb as following a thread about a show you don't watch. Simply ignore what doesn't apply to you.

I've never told anyone not to watch it. I've just pointed out some of the silly things about it. Feel free to disagree. I eagerly await your dissertation on why my opinion is wrong for me.

So this thread has really turned in to a b*tch/moan fest. I bet the last 4+ pages are nothing but arguing about the right to like or dislike the show. Really enjoyed when it was just general discussion about the episodes and what may happen in the future.

ho hum.

Show runners backed themselves into a corner with the finale plot twist. Hard for Maggie to lead a revolt against Rick if she's not on the show. Should keep next season interesting. I read next season will flash forward a couple of years, and if it holds to comic The Whispers will be the next threat.

If they do decide to bring in the whisperers, I wonder how far they will take it? Without Carl, it seems kind of moot at this point.

Carl death was unnecessary and got rid of a show favorite and a major character from the comic. I know variation keeps it less predictable but there are beloved characters that are gone or never existed in the comic that are hanging around why not bump off Carol?

When they showed the massive herd at the end of this season, that was my thought as well.

I guess FTWD fans will have to deal with a Major character loss with Nick getting bumped off last week.
