Could ECU be the destination for transferring ODU guard Michael Hueitt Jr?

He only played in 13 games and averaged 2.1 points, but he hit 9 of 19 3-pointers. He also broke the state record for 3-pointers in a game with 16 when he was in high school. He is from Fayetteville. All speculation, but I wouldn't be surprised if we're on his list.

After decommitting from Pitt, 6'9 @SaintJamesHoops senior PF Bryce Golden has narrowed his list to Butler, Georgetown, Syracuse, Illinois, UConn and Wichita St. Expects to reduce further and schedule official visits this week.

Guessing he didn't consider Temple again because his fellow Saint James Saint, Obi Enechionyia did not improve at Temple.

He looks like a good add. The only bad thing is after he sits out a year for transfer rules he'll be part of a class of 6 Juniors (if my math is correct). We'll have 4 seniors that year assuming all of those guys are still around.

Is Coach Haith going to just continually bring in JUCOs every year to supplement/balance the roster?

We have had a few transfer out. Not sure on the classes right now and wouldn't be surprised to see more transfer out this year or next. My assumption is he will be the replacement for Jeffries who was also a division 1 transfer (via juco)

It may be that Haith is recruiting 2-3 scholarships as transfer/juco as needed to fill holes. I doubt we go heavy via juco unless they are like Jeffries and were division 1 first. Tulsa has tough transfer credit rules and a lot of credits won't cut it for requirements.

Jon Rothstein all in on UCF
https://www.fanragsports.com/cbb/rothste...aralleled/

Quote:2. UCF looks like the team to beat next season in the American Conference

Mass departures at Cincinnati, Houston, and Wichita State have opened the door at the top of this league; the Knights look ready to take advantage.

Tacko Fall’s decision to return to school next season instantly makes UCF one of the elite defensive teams in the sport, and it’s important to keep in mind that this team won 19 games last season despite being ravaged by injuries.

Johnny Dawkins’ squad is in position to return seven of its top eight scorers from last season while adding a starter in former Michigan wing Aubrey Dawkins, who missed all of last year with a shoulder injury. George Washington transfer Collin Smith also figures to be an integral piece at 6-foot-11; he averaged 5.3 points and 4.4 rebounds two years ago.

No team in the American Conference will have more known commodities entering next season than UCF.

Rothstein is a moron. Calling some dude that averaged 5 and 4 at GWU an integral piece is all you need to know.

Rothstein needs better words. He needs the best words.

But I do agree with him that UCF has to be the early favorite next year.

based on his father's interviews on ESPN radio in Memphis, you'd have to think Baylor is the front runner. Tyler, according to his dad, wants early playing time and Baylor has promised that. At Memphis, he'll have to share with Jeremiah martin and Alex Lomax.

Yeah, something about him wanting to be the qb not part of a platoon system IIRC.

Both our 247 guys switched their crystal balls for Harris from Baylor to Memphis last night. I have no idea if they know something, but they are saying Memphis now.

disagree...
Im 100% fine with the media saying ucf is the favorite but IMO its houston
ucf has never been or even been on the bubble (was a low seed nit)..

houston lost "masses" according to rothstein but most of it were deep bench players, houston lost only 2 players of value..if we are honest most of the players that left were encouraged to leave.

Those 247 guys eye roll

FTR, I have no clue where he'll go, but don't put a lot of stock in that website either. Though admittedly, they actually appear to be making attempts to contact sources for info instead of just pulling random info off the net like it was when they offered me a free trial years ago.

Our full starting roster would be ridiculous next year assuming we don't hit the injury bug for the 6th straight year. We would be in the mix for sure. I'll leave favorite out for now.
