CBS-SN smart to get rights to CUSA and Navy
Looking at future FB schedules, CBS-SN was wise to get the rights to CUSA. Not only do they get to air the CUSA CCG on CBS-SN but they get to televise a lot of good cartel 5 games played at CUSA teams. In 2019 alone, CBS-SN gets Texas @ Rice, Baylor @ Rice and Wake at Rice. 2 are in the Texans stadium, but Rice is the hometeam for television purposes.

Look at the people who kept saying Navy wasn’t on cbs-sn...
They said Navy was going to be on ESPN.

Only 1 of those is a good P5 team in Texas. Baylor and Wake? eek.

RE: CBS-SN smart to get rights to CUSA
Some of the Games that will be broadcast on CBS-SN next 2 years:
Arkansas @ Colorado St
Colorado @ Colorado St
Missouri @ Wyoming
North Carolina St @ Marshall
Virginia Tech @ Old Dominion
Louisville vs Western Kentucky
Washington St @ Wyoming
Minnesota @ Fresno St
Arizona @ Hawaii
Oregon St @ Hawaii
Navy @ Hawaii
Arizona St @ San Diego St
BYU @ San Diego St
Texas @ Rice
Baylor @ Rice
Oregon St @ Nevada
Purdue @ Nevada
Indiana @ FIU
Duke @ Middle Tennessee St
BYU @ Utah St
Baylor @ UTSA
Army vs Air Force (twice)
Navy vs Air Force (twice)

Decent national lineup. They also get all MWC games except for Boise home games, all CUSA games, all Army and Navy home games and 1 AAC game per week. Plus some sub licensed Maction and Sun Belt games....not too shabby of a lineup imo.

But for what CBS is paying, a dozen games a year where a G5 hosts a bottom-tier P5 isn't bad.

If they play the CCG in the early Saturday window, they'll just fall further into the abyss. PAPN podcast talked about how the Sun Belt would be best served not to play on a Saturday and so should C-USA. Being on CBSSN when The American is on ABC and the MAC on ESPN or 2 at the same time is an easy decision for most viewers...and it ain't CBSSN.

um, they don't get all MWC games but Boise. It's split with ESPN.

from Mattsarz
CBS is considered to be the "primary" TV partner. CBS will be able to choose the top eight football games each year, then alternate with ESPN for the rest of their picks. This package is for up to 22 games. CBS's contract runs through the 2019-20 athletic year.
ESPN's package also runs through the 2019-20 athletic year and includes the rights to Boise St. home games. At least three Boise St. football games will air on ABC, ESPN, ESPN2. ESPN can choose the platform of its choice for all other Boise St. home games. No more than three Boise St. home games can be moved to a weeknight. ESPN will have up to 22 football games including the Boise St. home games. ESPN does have the ability to trade one Boise St. home game per year to CBS in exchange for a Boise St. road games at a Mountain West opponent.
The contract for the conference's championship game is with ESPN and runs through the 2019 game. The game will air on ESPN or ESPN2.

The Notre Dame vs Navy game is a Navy home game this year even though it's played in San Diego St's stadium. That's CBS not ESPIN

Madame,
I'll admit I root for ESPIN to fail. I love when the ESPIN monolopy gets competition.
Will you admit that you are rooting for ESPIN to succeed, Madame?

I'm rooting for actual facts. And you are wrong. Navy home games will fall under the general AAC tv contract this year. Some may be on CBSSN, but that would fall under the sublicensing.

I will fully admit if I'm wrong. Last I read Navy home games were to become a part of the AAC tv deal in 2018. The Army game is to be excluded while CBS has an option on the ND game in 2018. I'm sure they'll exercise it, but haven't read anything about it being set in stone hence the "possibly" qualifier.

The Navy vs ND won't be on ESPN any years. (NBC/CBS)
The Navy vs Army game will never be on ESPN; only on CBS.
Air Force games between Army & Navy will all be on CBS-SN or CBS.

Ohhh....you don't know about the Navy sweetheart deal that says that CBS gets the ND and Army games on CBS? I understand now.
