A Fox News contributor has quit the network, blasting the channel as a “propaganda machine for a destructive and ethically ruinous administration” in an email announcing his departure.

Retired Lt. Col. Ralph Peters announced that he was quitting Fox News as a strategic analyst on Tuesday in a fiery email to colleagues, BuzzFeed News reported.

"Over my decade with Fox, I long was proud of the association. Now I am ashamed," Peters wrote.

“Four decades ago, I took an oath as a newly commissioned officer. I swore to 'support and defend the Constitution,' and that oath did not expire when I took off my uniform. Today, I feel that Fox News is assaulting our constitutional order and the rule of law, while fostering corrosive and unjustified paranoia among viewers,” he said.

“In my view, Fox has degenerated from providing a legitimate and much-needed outlet for conservative voices to a mere propaganda machine for a destructive and ethically ruinous administration,” Peters continued.

The former contributor wrote that he was “appalled” by network hosts who had previously criticized former President Obama for his handling of Russian President Vladimir Putin for now advancing “Putin's agenda by making light of Russian penetration of our elections and the Trump campaign.”

I really love Lt. Col. Ralph Peters. He's one of the few people willing to call the military -- even his own branch -- on when and where and how it wastes money.

And I just really love that he said the following. Makes me happy to know I'm not in fact the only person on the entire planet who thinks it:

I don’t watch Fox News, or any cable news, but if it was ever on and he was talking I would change it because he is one I had particular disdain for.

using "news" in their moniker is a defamation to news regardless who is doing the pandering.....

so what if Fox is the one of the few representing the op-ed from those mostly leaning to the right.....in numbers, the outlets on the left far outnumber them in 'media mogul heaven click theater'.....

this is nothing new.....

the bottom line is most sheeple don't have the ability to think for themselves......the msm knows that.....that's why Hearst turned up the heat and the medicine man was the Rx savior back in the day.....

I tossed my tv years ago. If there is something I want to watch I can see it online. Of course, there really aren't any shows I watch beyond sci-fi from the 70's and 80s.

Best I can tell, Fox let’s thier news folks present the news however they like. If anyone thinks Shepard Smith’s show is some Republican/Trump echo chamber—-then it’s clear they haven’t watched the show.

Peters is/was a weeny.

Liked his “take” on occasion, but won’t miss him or his soprano voice.

I’ll catch him on MSLSD where she can further the effort.

The best thing to do is get a story from multiple sources, weed out the BS, and create your own opinion.

Or it could be a sign that people on Fox are allowed to think for themselves and have opinions that differ from one another.

Just because none of the lemmings on BSDNC & The Clinton News Network have the integrity to call a spade a spade doesn't mean they aren't just as guilty as Peters believes Fox is.

For me its a pretty broad and loose definition: The "mainstream media" refers to anyone who thinks that the credentials hanging from a lanyard around their neck entitles them to ask questions or spout views -- ones which coming from someone else would elicit a "mind their own business" response.

Fox News most certainly qualifies as part of the mainstream media.
