He should send Saul to join GG's staff at Loyola. I know he doesn't want to sabotage GG's career, but he needs to do something with Saul.

Cut your loses and send him to art school. Try it. Clear he's in the wrong profession now.

Yep. I have been saying that all along. He left KY over his son, he can leave Memphis as well.

Geoff was talking about the contract and that there is nothing that says the Tub has exclusive control over his assistants.

So its settled.

Actually, this is a very likely the scenario, if Tubby leaves. I don't think the admin will straight up fire Tubby, given the lack of money the program is generating & the fact they were willing to give JP another year if GT had not come calling.

I'm going with unlikely.

I think it’s possible that there’s a school out there that might be interested in Tubby. Lots of schools out there. If a school (Georgia Tech) could have interest in Josh, then obviously a school could be interested in Tubby.

Key words...possible, might, and could.

The reason it’s possible is because all sides have to be unhappy.
Tubby
Big money donors
Boosters
Administration
Fans
Tubby’s assistant coaches
Tubby’s wife

I can’t see how anyone on that list could honestly say, I’m happy the way things are going. So, moving on actually benefits all parties.

Ive thought about this - the scenario would be like this:
Another school:
-Coach screws up has to be fired/resign
-School is embarrassed and wants to smooth over negative situation
-Good players on roster so no need for recruiting.

- Sign Tubby for 2 year contract to wait out the school's dream candidate OR school has an alum candidate who is not ready to =be HC but may be in 2 or 3 years and may benefit from Tubby's mentoring---(sounds like a fantasy? Sure it is, but Louisville fit this bill a few months ago)

The positives are:
Tubby is very professional and I think if anyone can just stay away from the noise and not let it affect his work it’s Tubby.
Tubby is a good floor coach and talent developer

In a perfect world, at least one of the non-recruiting assistants are gone, Penny comes in with his contacts, brings some top shelf recruits, learns the ropes as head coach in waiting, and takes over in 2-3 seasons after this one. I realize Penny isn’t likely to agree, but this is my imaginary world and I can do what I want

The highlighted item (lack of game attendance on the part of the fans) shown above is the best illustration as to the dismal state of the program.

No doubt something will be done soon. The Deciders can't ignore the lack of money flowing into the coffers.

That's why I think you can support them by watching them on TV, but if people keep not showing up then it'll force their hands. I've had season tickets for 10 years since I graduated. I will not renew next year if Tubby is back, shouldn't have renewed this year.

Esposito is going to be the fall guy in all of this.

Assuming Tubby survives which I think he will.

It's gonna get a lot worse, folks.

It is my understanding that it will not be Joe's choice.

Joe will be the fall guy if Tubby survives.

Comes from someone who should know.
