On the flipside, CUSA could use a good Charlotte team, and Blaine could get them there. They used to be very good.

It just aint right. Im still a bit salty about how the whole thing turned out. The Blaine Era was certainly a special time for Monarchs basketball.

Standing in the big brown dump after finishing off a successful conference tournament run filled to my cap with joy and such pride in my school. I miss that feeling. Feels like a lifetime ago now.

I hear ya. Between the Butler tip-in, the VCU Final Four run, and losing John Richardson and Dorian Finney-Smith, the end pretty much sucked.

And ODU still hasn't completely recovered.

I do hope that Charlotte and UTEP can make good hires, Blaine or no Blaine. CUSA could easily be a multibid conference once again.

How about we just hire a healthy Blaine Taylor back to ODU.

Since falling off the wagon at ODU....(and flamingly so) was his second alcohol related
incident at a school I think Head Coach is not possible unless it's a very small school or maybe a division II situation.

His teams' toughness is something I sure miss. Too often we look soft and unprepared.

Not if we play like we did against NSU. I have been a JJ supporter but our play is super inconsistent and our guys do not seem to be getting better. It feels like it has been years since we have even played one game from start to finish in a dominant fashion. And can we please recruit some guys that can shoot 80% from the foul line. We leave hundreds of points on the court each season becasue we can't shoot a set shot from 10 feet.

If I were the AD at either one of those schools I would call him in for an interview ASAP and if I felt that he wasn't going to go back to what caused his dismissal from ODU - and I don't think he would - then I would have no reservations at all about hiring him. I think he would turn either one of those programs around quickly and make them contenders in their conference if given proper leeway to do his job.

Best thing that happened to BT was getting fired from ODU. Looks like he is in a better place (mentally, physically, etc)

Considering our free throw shooting has been pretty damn good since W&M, i would venture to guess you aren’t watching the games

How many guys shoot 80% from the free throw line?

^ There are currently 246 Division 1 mens basketball players that shoot 80% or better from the FT line. None of which are from ODU.

Less than 1 per team? BJ not qualify?

So just 10% of (assuming 7 players actually playing per team) active D1 players would make our team.

To be clear. When people respond like I just did to statements like that it's not because I don't acknowledge that we have ft shooting issues. But like was mentioned the last few games we've been really good from the line and that horse has been beat to death, dug up, revived, beaten again, made into glue, turned into a paper mache horse and burned so it's easy to real back into realty.

Partly because BJ has only made 28 out of 34 attempts. To be listed/counted a shooter must make an average of 2.5 per game. BJ is short by 2 makes

We are at 70% right now, which is not great, but not make a comment every game level bad.
