Not sure what you are getting at? We where just giving examples of how a school district can structure payroll for the 180 odd working days in a teachers contract.
How much does the average Private school Teacher make compared to the Public school teacher?

RE: Should every position at every level be paid hourly?
My wife is an elementary school teacher, most years at third grade, but moved to fourth this year. She is at school every morning at 7:30, gets 30 minutes for lunch and never leaves the building before 5:00. We eat dinner and she spends from 6:30 to 9:00 or 9:30 every night grading papers and working lesson plans. So she basically works 55 to 60 hours a week. This does not count extracurricular stuff she does, working on IEPs on the weekends, parent teacher conferences, continuing education requirements, etc.
I will note that she is on the extreme end of effort. She grades every paper, a lot of teachers don't grade "practice sheets", but she wants to make sure she knows who is having trouble with what. My observation is that elementary teachers put ion a lot more hours than their middle and high school counterparts as a general rule. She is still teaching all the subjects instead of just one which requires more planning and more variety on grading.

Last time I checked it was something like 50k for public and 35k for private.

She also gets 3 months paid vacation in the summer and a schit ton more holidays to include 2 weeks for Christmas, a week in the middle of the spring, the days before and after Thanksgiving, Election Day, and just about every federal holiday. Even if she averages 11 hours per day during the 180 day school year, she still is still working less hours than a 40 hour per week employee that works year round with 10 holidays.
And if she has her 3rd and 4th graders writing papers that she cannot grade while they are in PE, art, music, etc, that is her own doing.

To be fair, you should get what you sign up for at every job. And everything should be included. Pension and healthcare included in hourly wage.

So for Pension and Healthcare add about $300,000 to working years hourly rate. Of course, that should be guaranteed and not yanked at the last moment.
And it goes without saying that Pension and Healthcare dollars should only be applied to Public School Teachers as Private School Teachers, by and large, do not receive such benefits. (Yet still pay for them)

Horse manure... two months off in the summer more than makes up for the fact you're incapable of grading papers during the study halls and union designated off periods you get during a day.

My mother was a teacher. I assume you are being sarcastic as teachers would probably only average 1600 per year.
Did your mother not work hours at home grading papers and making lesson plans? Did you mother not stay after school or show up early to help tutor students?
His mother probably used the free period or study hall period she had doing that, and not posting on csnbbs. I also assume once you do a really good lesson plan for a particular subject you only recycle and tweak it a bit.

RE: Should every position at every level be paid hourly?
So when two executives play golf and get to know each-other and want to work together and that brings the company millions of dollars, should they be paid for that time? Should they be paid the same hourly rate as when they sign time sheets for their employees?
If two shift workers from different companies play golf together and it doesn't in any way generate business for the company, should THAT be paid?
What if the executives play golf but don't ultimately work together? Should that be paid?
IOW, the job descriptions are often different enough that using the same salary structure is silly.
If delivery workers were paid by the hour with no expectation of meeting any 'numbers', would they drive slower? Would they walk or work slower? WOuld it take 30 seconds to get that price check or fix your internet issue or 30 minutes?

Perhaps there should be a distinction between teachers and instructors. Both in pay and in respect.
