MBB Rice vs Texas Tech
Surprised there is no thread yet. Did everyone give up? Last I check Rice is ahead 21-18 with 4:21 left in the half, but I'm at dinner so i can't constantly monitor.

Tech now on 14-1 run and counting. 22-27 Tech. Rice without a FG for last 8 minutes. Ugh. Lapray still not playing. Lots of turnovers and fouls.

Thankfully, Tech is only 2-7 on FTs, or this game would already be over. We've now gone 10+ minutes without a FG. No drives; simply one outside shot and no rebounding.

RE: MBB Rice vs Texas Tech
Connor is the only Owl with a pulse so far tonight. He is single handedly keeping us in the game with 11 points (3-6, 2-3 3s, 3-3 FTs) and 6 boards.

We are VERY fortunate we're only down 25 - 29 at half. We haven't hit a FG since the 8:00 mark of the first half. That's 12 minutes and counting. Ugh.

Tech is the 35th ranked offense in the country and we held them to 29 points. I know there have been plenty of negatives, but I'll take being down 4 at the half against the #24 team in the country. Play like this against conference teams (that don't have the #9 ranked D in the country) and we can win a few games.

4 points and no FGs in the final 12 minutes of the half? That's not going to beat anybody.

Against the 9th ranked defense in the country. I could easily look at the first 8 minutes and look for the positives, too. It wasn't a perfect half, sure, but I definitely prefer this than what we showed against St. Edward's.

Wide open cutter doesn't catch the ball -> live ball TO -> transition and-1 for Texas Tech is why we're just not very good right now. Can't screw up the simple things when you're not going to out-skill/play a team.

57-45, 6:28 to go. Had a chance to cut it to 5, missed front end. Refs continue to be bad.

Tech is a woeful 6-19 from the charity stripes. It's the only thing keeping us from being totally blown out. We have 19 turnovers (to their 9). Connor continues to be the only Owl playing inspired ball: 21 points (6-10 FG, 5-7 3s), 11 rebounds.

Now at 22 TOs with another 3:30 left to go. 03-banghead And most of these turnovers are unforced.

Down by 16 at the under 3. We just don't have the play-making on offense. Think we've been pretty decent on defense. Refs have been garbage the last 5-10 minutes, but it was probably over beforehand anyway. I want to think playing a top 25 team close for most of the game is a moral victory, but at some point you gotta start getting real wins.

Still not showing any improvement IMO. Same mistakes each game

Struggling offense with Lapray out I can understand and accept, but not the continuing ridiculously high level of turnovers; not at this point in the season. Unacceptable.

Just 10 assists for the game, with no player having more than 2. Astounding.

It's a completely new team. Time and recruiting. I hope we can bring in players who are loyal to Rice to the end.

NO. It could be 2 years from now and if we have better recruits and still turn the ball over like this and have no consistent offensive flow and show no improvement as the season progresses we will still be bad. This is at least as bad as execution under (gulp) DB
Only thing I agree with is having players who are loyal to Rice.
