OT- ESPN chief resigns
Head of ESPN, Jon Skipper resigns citing substance addiction.

He had just signed an extension a couple of weeks ago to remain in charge till 2021.

Will be interesting to see what happens with ESPN and it's leadership going forward.

Interesting that he discovered his substance addiction was detrimental to his ability to be president of ESPN just days after the Boston Globe publishes their damning report about the culture at ESPN. Although that was nothing new for anyone who read "Those Guys Have All the Fun".

Hopefully they will get away from politics so I can get back to enjoying sports.

I didn't have an issue with it when it was compartmentalized. When I wanted sports, I'd check ESPN, if I wanted interesting articles about stuff, I'd read Grantland (knowing it may contain politics, pop culture and non sport stuff) and if I was in a stat mood, I'd read fivethirtyeight. Now it is a hodge podge and a crappy one at that - the loss of Grantland really sucked.

Nothing is as offensive as having Stephen A. Smith and Skip Bayless' replacement constantly being shoved in your face though 03-puke That show is the definition of sensationalist, content free garbage.

I'm ok with there being special sections dedicated to politics undertones, but when on average 3 or 4/9 lead stories on their front page discuss politics, it drives people like myself away.
