A reporter should make an effort to find out if there was even a single UM rep at that game. If there was not, that should be reason enough to ditch the staff. Such immense, overwhelming local talent who would in any other situation play for the hometown team. And not a single rep from the university was there? Not even the video guy?

The Memphis players beat east by about the same Margin as when East played last years players.

I cannot find a story on it after a cursory internet search. Maybe you will have better luck. Meanwhile, I will assume you are correct. It is hard to believe that a group of high school kids could beat D-1 men even in a pick up game.

East beat then #1 Findlay Prep (a basketball factory) over the Thanksgiving weekend. Findlay I was on a flight with the Findlay team and heard all kinds of excuses why East beat them by double digits.

East has one and potentially two future lottery picks on the team right now and this is a different east team too from last year...good chance this years east team could beat this years tigers..I'd go as far as putting money on it.

Agree wholeheartedly. It's both ridiculous and sad that a HS team located with a mile or so of the U of M campus has 5 players ranked in the Top 150 of their respective classes, and Memphis does not appear to have a chance at one of them.

Talk about a missed window of opportunity. If we had the right coach, we could by vying for a #1 recruiting class with just 2-3 of these kids alone, not to mention Tyler Harris and DJ Jeffries.

Absolutely they would. Wiseman is better than anyone on the U of M's roster. And it's not close. He'd dominate Thornton or Davenport.

Boyce, Lawson and Lomax are probably better as well.

I'd put money on East beating Memphis.

Wiseman would be a lottery pick now as a junior...that dude is a butcherer on the inside with a good outside touch.

If he doesn't at least LOOK like he is trying to do his job, there may be something in a contract to nullify it or at least get a prorate or something.

I am not well-versed on his contract or sports contracts in general...but usually when a subordinate does not fulfill the obligations and expectations set forth by an employer...you can fire the employee with cause and thus nullify any repercussions. Tubby is not fulfilling the obligations and expectations set forth upon him as an employee of the University of Memphis. And, if he is, then how whimsy and weak is our admin to extend a contract requiring a bare minimum of effort? If he doesn't pull a win over Louisville and get fan excitement back immediately, admin would be wise to make a preemptive decision so as to save the future of the program. Of course this has all been said by many, but how angry is the admin going to let the fans and the city get before the damage is irreversible?

those expectations better be spelled out in the contract or you can't argue that.
