It's on FoxSportsGo right now, in case you're wondering.
Only if your cable subscription is from the FS Carolinas viewing area.
I'm unfortunately in Southwest Georgia... so I get FS Southeast... lots of Hawks games. Blah.
Not familiar with how FoxSportsGo works online, but have you tried logging in while using a VPN? Tho I guess if it's just regular cable you'll still get the channels for your billing address huh.

RE: ESPN now own all of FOXs local sports networks
The allusion to this being a negative with regards to monopolies is correct. ESPN is eliminating its competition in order to bolster its control of what their customers consume. ESPN is in the business of building brands; they do this by grouping teams in such a way that "brands" can be promoted as premiere then broadcast on their prime time slots where they make most of their advertising revenue. The joke arrives when some of ESPN's "premiere" teams are not premiere at all. There may be many worthy teams that should be on in place of a "power" team but since they aren't installed into the hype machine, they go unseen (or barely seen). In this sense, the paying customer is being robbed. The entire reason for the creation of a monopoly is to rob customers.

It is obvious to me that Disney's new streaming service is designed to be a cable killer. Disney is creating their own bundle.
Disney Channel
ABC
ESPN (NFL, NBA, MLB, college football, college basketball)
Star Wars
Marvel
Muppets
20th Century Fox catalog
Netflix's days are numbered.

Netflix's days are numbered.
Disney will also be the majority owner of Hulu now.
My guess is that Netflix will be sold to Amazon to be included in their Prime Video offering, this will probably happen in the next few years. Netflix has financed alooooooootttttt of debt the last couple of years to increase its content creation. I'm not sure what the long-term plan is, but there doesn't seem to be a good way out without selling yourself to a much larger company (e.g. Amazon) unless Netflix's revenues improve quite a bit.
It appears that you are right, Disney is setting themselves up for their own streaming service... Probably to compete with a future Amazon-Netflix merged offering.
It will be interesting to see how some of the other media conglomerates respond to this.

this a good sign for the AAC or bad...
Clearly it is bad. Bad for everyone. A you all know, Aresco is just trying to create competition in order to raise the price of the bids for content. This eliminates one of the bidders, as Fox has enough content with the Big 10, Big 12, Fox, the UFC and baseball playoffs. They don't need the AAC to help fill three channels.

Nah, they saw this coming 5 years ago and poured 15+ billion into original networking. I barely watch anything on Netflix now that isn't original programming or somehow tied to NBC. It's a steep hole to climb out of but they've got tons of loyal eyes now. As mentioned above, selling to Amazon might make sense.
For what its worth, I still think you're dead right on the end of cable with this move. Where's Teddy Roosevelt when you need him?

Being how involved the AAC is with the ESPN contract, this will affect the AAC.
no there are contracts that limit you pushing thing to other networks.... this will more effect our espn3 games
will be curious if espn now pushes to resign with the AAC for sure since all but temple is covered by their local networks ..every p5 has a network ...itll be interesting
will be curious how we react, if espn says they want to sign the aac for a ton of money but most of our games only on local networks
Correct. This currently would only affect ESPN-3 games (which I suspect will pushed to appropriate Fox Regionals. The real effect, if any, would be when the contract is renegotiated. I dont know if will mean anything or not---but the footprint of the Fox RSN's is remarkably similar to the AAC footprint (nearly identical from Texas eastward)

They never did. Nobody I can think of seriously believed Fox would be bidding for the AAC. NBC, CBS-Sports, and ESPN are the most likely bidders. Could be some action from the streamers--but I dont expect them to be a major player.
This is likely a net neutral for the AAC. I dont think it will have much affect on college football contracts at all. The Fox RSN's are primarily driven by pro sports local franchise rights. I think the winners are the MAC, Sunbelt, and CUSA--who will see more ESPN3 content getting extra traditional cable TV exposure on the appropriate Fox Regionals.

And they still will. FOX, FS1/2 still utilize sports content.

I'm not against playing on the regionals. The Big 10, SEC, PAC and now ACC will all be doing it in the name of conference tv networks....

Wichita State was constantly on Fox Sports throughout the last decade or so in the Valley. Trust me, it's nothing compared to being on ESPN or one of the major OTA networks.

You have to wonder in 2019, does ESPN really up the money on any of the G5 and Indy tv contracts. Really, where do these people go now? I don't see them cutting any ones contracts, like the Sun Belt or CUSA could go lower? But I don't see a substantial increase other than a COLA. Then again, I am not sure this contracts gets approved by the DOJ, it appears to give to much power to a single company impacting Amazon and Netflix which will be the main complaint but it really does also provide ESPN as a primary stop for non power conferences. Fox will not be wanting them and CBS will probably be glad to buy the games as they have been. Unless NBC truly wants into the college game, I think the AAC better root for the DOJ to kill the deal. From an ACC perspective, I am all for this deal. It definitely helps ESPN push for carriage fees for live sports which only helps the ACC network.
I still think ESPN will become a stand alone streaming service by 2025.

I honestly don’t know if this is good or bad. The bottom line though is they will need lots of content to fill all these channels and they just lost half the of the Big 10 last year. The rating prove the league has value so I think they reward the American with something favorable for both. Could be good for both them and the league. If they do start a streaming service that will also require lots of content so I just don’t think they are done buying it. Disney just paid billions for the other fox assets. ESPN needs more as well and who better than the American of what is left. I could see it going both ways.
