Can you show anything in either bill that says your taxes are going up?

I can not. Again, just saying. I will wait and see.

They “sunset”. It’s part of the legislative gobbledygook provision that was probably cooked up somewhere 140 yrs ago.

If you study history you’ll see the same was true of the “Bush” tax cuts following 9-11. They were re-upped and remain in place for the most part.

Tax RATES other than the top bracket are likely coming down.

But, the biggie, is the doubling of both the personal exemption(s) as well as the child credit going from either 1grand to 1600 or 2000. So guess we’ll assume 1800 per. An 80% increase.

Those items alone are worth somewhere around 12 grand Tax free, and however much you may get depending if you have snizzles in the House or not.

Very few, such as 14% of high earners, will pay more. Much of that because after their first 500.000 on their on their mortgage interest deduction is exhausted, they will not be deducting it as high a rate to 1 million. Beyond the 1,000,000 it’s not deductible.

Further, the personal prop tax is only deductible up to the first 10,000. So if you’re paying out your asss in some stupid place like NY, NJ, ILL or Cali that may be a hit.

The rest of this leftist garbage is just noise.

The VAST majority of people not in the 1% or even .01% will pay less in federal income taxes.

sounds like oblundercare and premiums.... 07-coffee3

The difference here is that Obamacare had no control over the premiums. That comes from the insurance providers and not the government.

In the case of the Trump tax reform, it's a redistribution of wealth to the richest Americans that is set in stone. Law.

Hahahahaha

On both accounts. Just idiotically ridiculous.

Wow.

You are completely of ignorant of how insurance premiums are set if you don't think forcing providers to provide specific services don't drive premiums.

Yep.

Eliminating tax avoidance methods is all about punishing those evil, greedy, rich tax dodgers - until they eliminate yours.

Good grief.

Attacking something you readily admit you don’t have a complete handle on, then deride folks that go to church too?

WTH is that? Geeeeeez.....

Depends on the candidates and what they get done. If current office holder hurts my position, I’m voting potential and punishment. Please know, failed expectations hurt the worst regardless of party imo.

Depending on what happens during reconciliation ill either pay a little more or alot more in taxes.

I currently file as HOH with one dependent. That puts me in the 25% bracket, with two exemptions plus mortgage interest, property tax and charitable deductions as itemized deductions. My total itemized deductions are around 24k add the personal exemptions of 8k, thats 32k I am able to write off my gross.

As i understand the 2 bills

Under the House plan I lose property taxes and personal exemptions, which takes me from 32 K to 17K, tax rate stays at 25%.

Under Senate plan I lose personal exemptions which takes me from 32K to 24, tax rate goes to 24%.

Of course forcing providers to provide specific coverage is going to drive premiums but it isn't the government directly changing the premiums. It is the insurance companies adjusting to what they are required to provide and adjusting their premiums accordingly. Even when doing that, insurance premiums went up more slowly than at anytime since 1960.

Redistribution of wealth to the richest? Just who in the hell do you think pays the most taxes? That statement is maybe the most absurd thing Ive ever read on this forum.
