Source confirms Houston VP for intercollegiate athletics Hunter Yurachek will step down to become athletic director at Arkansas. First reported by @FootballScoop.

Interestingly, his first job will be to hire a new Razorback head coach. Truth be told, I dont think he's every really done that--though he has worked closely in the hiring of two. At Coastal Carolina the president pretty much hired the coach when Hunter was there--and the search process that hired Applewhite was largely Timans baby. Mack hired Herman before he left--so he wasnt Hunter's hire.

Hi Houston...Don't forget Jeff Compher when you start your search.

Sounds like a good thing for UH if he was responsible for their current HC - JMO of course.

Yurachek was solid--but far from specatacular here--though I thought he did a good job overall. Im frankly surprised he got such a big job so quickly. Congrats to him. I hope he does well.

That would make sense. lol...eventually he'd going to have to pick one. To be fair, he's done pretty well on the smaller coaching hires he ran.

We really need to right the ship and I hope he can fix the issues with the program.

Just saw FOX News teasing a piece saying Saban might be heading to the NY Giants. That would sure shake things up.

He's not a fixer. If anything he will make your situation status quo.
