RE: We decided to take matters into our own hands....
I think it may cost more like $3million to buy Doc out. I read the 2015 press release that says his base increased to $800k/yr with the new contract and the contract runs through July 2021.

Those who say just a couple of scores away from 9 - 3 season, well, also true a couple of missed scores away from 5 - 7 season.

2018 could be very UGLY! @ Miami not a gimme since this year's game was decided by two KO returns for TDs and a Pick 6. @ SC likely loss, v. NC State likely loss. Best case OOC 2 - 2 compared to 3 - 1 this year, OOC could just as easy be 1 - 3. MTSU with healthy Stockstill won't be gimme neither will @ WKU. 2018 could look a lot like 2016 without a new offensive coordinator. Doc needs to demonstrate his commitment to Marshall by trying to improve the team and make changes like those promised before 2017 season. If his commitment is first to his WVU brother, Legg, then he isn't about making Marshall football the best it can be.

You misspelled "stupid." I think that pretty much speaks for itself.

I wish dumbasses like yourself, would understand that wanting better for Marshall doesn't make people bad fans. It makes them better fans. But you go ahead and be happy with 7-5. Some of us would prefer more than one championship in 8 years. Like it or not, we're Marshall fans and here to stay. Why don't you go root for some Div 3 team where it doesn't matter if they get crapped on in conference every year. Now run along before I say something about why you're retarded and regret it.

I've said that a lot, and until there's another perfect season no one should say Marshall can't improve on the current one. 2017 was better than 2016, but there was not excuse for 2016. 2017 still filled with disappointments including no wins against a team with winning record.

Two seasons removed from 3 straight 10-win seasons... from an outsider perspective, that's not too bad.

2013 5 wins came against teams with losing records and one FCS team
2014 6 wins came against teams with losing records
2015 7 wins came against teams with losing records and one FCS team

While 10 win seasons are good, I want to see CUSA improve so there are very few teams with losing records, at that point can Doc still win 10 games? If 2017 is any indication, no.

If we keep using all this "weak teams" analogies, that means Marshall had those good seasons when main rival USM sucked tail pipes, so they don't count. 04-cheers

Only $2,499,800 to go. 03-lmfao If nothing else, hopefully, this shows powers that be at Marshall that fans with money would rather give to this cause than to MU Football which would be implied support for everything Doc is doing.

I get that... but I'm damn happy with 10 wins. I can see how the frustration level increases after a losing season and a lackluster one though.

be careful what you wish for comes to mind....

Doc has no coaching nads, but I would be okay with him staying if he gets a new OC. We are ranked 94th in total offense after being ranked 114th last year. We were 64th the year before that. Who survives that kind of job performance?
